Ok, so, I know this is a drop in the bucket feature compared to actual gameplay improvements and bugfixes. Fair. But this is feedback so Ima just drop this here as my feedback.
Got really excited to buy and play this game when it went on sale after playing Jurassic Park Evolution through. And I suspect I will enjoy the gameplay.
But I gotta say I had a short emotional roller coaster when I made a character. I made something I liked the look of (An ankh necklace? Fingerless biker gloves? A nice black hoodie? How cool is that!? This is stuff I wear IRL, and that's cool!) and it was pretty good. Then I saw there was an option for larger bodied characters. I was hype! What would the character I made look like with a body type closer to my real one!? How exciting! And when I clicked it and nothing translated. I saw that there were only TWO options for face and hair, my heart just bloody well SANK. Nothing I had on my character was on this new body type and there were fewer options for clothing - certainly none of the things I was already excited for.
You know we "large" people wear more than karen haircuts and dreads, right? Why on earth would fat folks only be able to wear their hair TWO ways?
We have more face shapes than two also.
We wear as many things as thin folks, not everything has to be puffy and modest.
Large bodied people, admittedly, have fewer clothing options in real life, but we can certainly all wear the same things as a slimmer person... So why would you do that in a video game? It takes equal amount of effort to implement one as the other, you have artists to render it.
"Slim" body bellies are A-OK to show off, but none of those gross fat bellies, right? C'mon guys. What's the goal there?
(In the same vein, why is the only natural black hair under "large" bodies??? What's up with that?)
I gotta say. It killed my hype. I'm not excited for this game any more, and just kinda sad feeling. Not that it matters, but my doctors say I'm in excellent health and eating well, and people don't seem to mind me wearing clothing as flamboyant or revealing as a slim person when I'm out belly dancing with my dance troupe or lifting bales of hay into my barn in a sports bra or cleaning animal cages on my farm in real life. I'm an able bodied person, I'm healthy, I'm active, I'm thicker, and I can wear more than two hairstyles and long shirts. Clothing is clothing regardless of body type and thick or thin we can wear the same stuff... You just have to put it in for us to use.
I'm sure this a great game. Hell, I probably don't even see the character model that often. But dang it it wasn't a real punch to the gut when that was my first experience opening your game. I hope the mechanical state of the game makes up for the really disappointing after-thought "large" folks get in character creation. It really broke my heart. My partner suggested I just return the game because he was upset by it too. I'm going to sit on it for an hour before making up my mind. I really wanted to play it.
In the future, I hope you implement a more balanced character model creation. If you're going to give a clothing option to thin bodies, give it to thicker ones too. It's really that simple. Thanks.
