Interesting article, especially with the thread about how the character creator in 2.3 doesn't allow you to make 'beautiful' people, or so was the claim.
From what I've seen its been possible to replicate the Individual cmdrs physical appearance.

What a bizarre claim. It's easy to make hot / pretty / beautiful / handsome (pick your favorite) faces with it. What's remarkable is that it actually manages old, worn and homely as well.
That's really odd - I personally feel that it's far too easy, because of the default settings, to make an "attractive" avatar.
