charging shields ?

I have recently noticed a difference in charging speed.
charging in normal space is slower than when charging in SC. id say about 20% slower.

bug or game mech?

I think it's a mechanic to stop people from low waking out in a fight and not take damage to allow shield charge, penalty slower regeneration rate, my take somebody probably has a better explanation

This is intended and how it should be, a bit like being in a time warp where everything is accelerated so shields will charge at a greater speed. Originally shields regenerated at the same rate in normal space and SC but was changed sometime ago, in SC you are travelling at far greater speeds and distance so wouldn't make any sense at all that your shields remain the same as in normal space.

If I remember correctly, charging rates across the board were reduced at some point (shield strength was increased at the same time??) and then SC-charging was increased again as it was taking forever for large ships to get their shields back up. Fast charging in stations was added at the same time. Definitely not a bug.

I'm sure somebody with a better memory can fill out the details.

Travelling at far greater speeds doesn't mean you travelling at greater time. 2econds in SC should the same as 2seconds in normal space. Thus theoretically shield recharge rate should be the same. I also don't think time is different in SC as it is in normal space and the HUD clock should confirm this.

I would rather "lend" it to the fact that your ship as more power as it uses less systems and thus can recharge the shields quicker but only FD would know this
