Bullcrap. It's entirely different, I don't see how you could compare the two at all. I hacked the original Frontier and FFE back and forth; even without going into the very obvious fact that E

is a client-server architecture (so immensely different from the old games, I don't understand how you could call them even remotely similar) and that things like memory editing will do you no good, and fake transactions and stuff will be invalidated by the server, the language and platform are so far apart it's not even funny.
There's really nothing at all in common between the new game and the old ones, except of course the fact that they're Elite games.
Really, the only thing you can actually "hack" in this new game, is some things that the server (stupidly, admittedly) leaves to the client to decide, like hit and collision detection (I ticketed this a long time ago, of course), but the process is so cumbersome that I don't see it getting automated any time soon. I mean, it can be done, but it's such a big hassle to actually do it that I don't see it happening before it's fixed.
That, and bugs in the server code itself like the Founder's World exploit.
