Newcomer / Intro Checking ship integrity while exploring?

I am currently exploring in my trusty Hauler "El Cheapo"

Since this voyage is quite longer than others, I was wondering if there is a way to assess the ship integrity while in space, so I know when to roughly turn back .

You can't (if you are talking about wear & tear)

But why would you wan't to turn back? Even with 100% w&t you can keep going, it only makes your hull a little (30% or so) more brittle.

If you are talking about modules and stuff, check your RH HUD. And use your auto repair kit when stuff starts to fail (or perhaps a tad sooner).
