Cherry picking which exploit to fix?

Ha, just seen Wills post about the Fertilizer exploit being fixed and then anyone who used it having their gains removed.

Not that this would impact me since I already exploited multi-billions years ago. Yet they are they penalising this one with the line "We always review instances where players gain an unfair advantage on a case-by-case basis, evaluating the impact that it can have on the community and health of the game"

What about Draconis?
What about the stacking passenger missions with the expediated travel time by relogging?
What about the early trade exploits by running two instances on one pc and trading between the same player in two locations?
What about the buying and selling slaves in the same location?
There have been so many, I honestly cannot remember half of them.

The credits being an issue in-game horse has already bolted chaps. Ever wonder why most players have Cutters?
Your game is so fundamentally broken in terms of in-game economy, that a PVP player now having 6 billion rather than 5 billion, isn't going to matter.

What makes this one special? Seeing as ALL the others were reported

And if we are looking at exploits.. What about ACTUALLY coming down hard on combat loggers? That certainly would be covered by " where players gain an unfair advantage" .

this one makes special that you need credits for carrier. they just wan´t new players get them fast, stop playing and wait. For old players like us ferilizer was just a oportunity cause we got the money before, like me i just tested a bit saw it worked, sait "damm what a nice bug" and moved on bought a viper for race cause i was on the way to it, xd well see if they remove that 20k viper

Guessing here but 1) because it was the mother of all credits exploits (billions per hour dwarves pretty much any exploit in the past, certainly the ones I benefited from) and 2) it was easy to fix, certainly easier than addressing CL'ing that's for sure.

I'm sure others feel different but I'm quite glad that I missed out on this one, and am not really interested in exploits these days with credits so easy to come by now.

When I was in a squadron, I made hundreds of millions of credits by doing nothing but joining a wing, and cashing in on the work of my squadron mates grinding CZ wing missions (something I don't have the patience for).

I ended up transferring my Corvette to Colonia and back to the bubble to burn those credits (about 3bn in total), it just didn't feel right to me (as in, satisfying from a game perspective) as I didn't "earn" them properly. Not sure I would've done it knowing Fleet Carriers were coming for single players, but c'est la vie. At least now credits mean a little bit more again for me.

Would have thought you were too worried about getting impeached to concern yourself over some fertiliser exploit.... 😃

They’d hoard it like everyone else does? It’s not like an ultra wealthy player can do anything with their money. Only so many times you can buy a cutter
I meant it would prolly cause mayhem in the 'punish teh sploiters' camp.

Anyway, money and CL, pff. Carry on, have fun (y)

Disregarding that it seems we disagree on many other subjects, I think you're right with this one.

There are laws in the galaxy, and even though it's "their law" to many, I accept that I get punished if I break the rules (FTR: I didn't trade fertilizer, because I was too late). It's also fair enough to change the laws, but it's never fair to change them retroactively. The blame is to be put on whoever set the prices of the fertilizer, not the CMDRs who made a very good trade.

Generally you should be allowed to use whatever "exploits" the galaxy allows you to, until it is nerfed. Let me quote: "Blaze your own trail". That is as close to "Find your own way of getting succes/rich in the galaxy" as it gets in my book.

7 mil in 5 seconds is an amount never shown before, but you kind of knew that.

I wonder what would of happened if the earned money was the sploiters to keep...

400 million every 20mins with Skimmer killing was easy. ( 2-3mins of logging and stacking 20million missions, fly to the planet 2mins, position ship, kill skimmers with single rocket salvo and relog in 40 seconds, kill 96 skimmers, smash into a rock to die, complete back at the station.

That's 20million a minute.

How big does the exploit need to be, to be considered bad?
