Chieftain's Canopy is Dirty

In the live stream it was noticeable that the Chieftain's canopy is very dirty. So please clean it before release.

A newly manufacturer ship should have a crystal clear canopy.

Ah, well, you know that this is a production prototype, don't you? As part of the exhaustive tests it was sent through a Nebula at high speed, and the interstellar dust stripped the paint from the hull and pitted the canopy. While it was not costly to re-spray the hull, getting another custom built canopy is hugely expensive. Once the ship goes into full production the glazing suppliers will be able to provide a new canopy at a far more reasonable cost.

It's not dirt I think. It's scratches. Lots of them. We usually don't see them because most ships have huge and often curved windshields but the Chieftain has a completely flat windshield in the front so it's really noticeable. I don't know how much it will affect flying, though, I don't think it will be a huge issue.

OK it looks really dirty but then the star is directly in front, obscured mostly by one of the cockpit spars.

I'm pretty certain that all ships canopy's look this/more dirty with the light shining directly through.

They do indeed all look like this.

I ain't letting no damn wasps near my ship, damn murder stinger insects... not a Plasma Accelerator big enough to deal with a wasp.

That's a bit harsh sir. We Wasp's have a role to play in life and that is to annoy the hell out of you just when you are eating mainly.

We also contribute to the messy dirty screens you have down on planet earth. Several of my friends and family have been............... errrrr, mashed on many a windscreen!

So scratches should be repairable at a station. A newly bought ship shouldn't have any.

There aren't major scratches in this cockpit of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

in 3304 AD they can't do any clean stuff anymore.

have you seen all the ship fonts we can buy or apply for free? ALL of them have a worn out style. Yep, just freshly paint your ship at 100% and someone comes over and polishs it with sandpaper. Thats how painting in 3304 works.
