It is what it sounds like. Also, there are some animals, like the horse and the tiger, that either I could not think of or we just had enough of in the game.

• Rat - Agouti
• Ox - Indian Gaur
• Rabbit - Arctic Hare
• Dragon - Bearded Dragon
• Snake - King Cobra
• Goat - Mountain Goat
• Monkey - Just pick one yourself. We already have a shortage of monkeys.
• Rooster - Guinea Fowl (Let me know if any of you can think of something better.)
• Dog - Coyote
• Pig - Red River Hog

If you're going by approximation and don't want to use the Sumatran tiger, there's still options such as the tiger quoll or now even a tiger butterfly species. For horse, you could use any of the usual suspects: Somali wild donkey, domestic donkey, onager, kiang, Grevy's or another zebra, or... even just a horse.

Especially since it fits the same criteria;

• Far more common in captivity than the tigers we have (at least more than the Bengal; IIRC the Siberian is fairly close).
• Could fill a reskin slot in an animal pack.

Dog - Black backed jackal
Pig - Red River Hog
Horse - Somali wild as
Tiger - Sumatran tiger (although if it could be any cat the ocelot)

Ox - Banteng
Rabbit - European rabbit
Dragon - Chinese alligator (I have heard that encounters with alligators may have been the inspiration for the Chinese dragon, which is why they are associated with water, the spring (when alligators emerge from brumation) and are seen as benevolent (Chinese alligators are much too small to be of any real threat to humans))
Snake - Mangshan pit viper (a giant arboreal viper from a single mountain in China; an endangered species that is kept and bred in zoos)
Goat - Markhor
Monkey - Grivet monkey (probably one of the most basic monkeys - nothing too spectacular, but commonly-kept and interesting) OR golden-bellied mangabey (rarely-kept, but incredibly beautiful, highly endangered and is kept in zoos)
Rooster - Red junglefowl (the wild ancestor of the domestic chicken - pretty commonly-kept in zoos as well)
Dog - Golden jackal
Pig - Wild boar
Horse - Somali wild donkey (technically not a horse, but probably one of the main equids missing from the game) OR konik horse (a domestic breed now commonly used in rewilding projects in Europe, that is sometimes also kept in zoos)
Tiger - Probably Sumatran tiger (I'd be even more sure if the Bengal tiger in the base-game had been a Malayan tiger - then we'd have all three tiger subspecies kept in captivity semi-regularly)
