Church of The Eternal Void vs. The Far God

It would seem that a rift is being torn in our society over the worship of Guardians and Thargoids... To me this reeks of manipulation by an outside force.

Think about it, The Far God worshipers do nothing but worship Thargoids (publicly) and cause controversy for their beliefs. As our laws go they are in the right as they are a non-violent registered church founded in protected systems.

The Church of The Eternal Void crops up not long after claiming to be venerating the Guardians. They are hostile towards the legal Far God worshipers and end up making the worship of the Guardians outlawed.

Now what? What constitutes Guardian worship? This ban on Guardian worship goes a long way towards negative public opinion regarding all things Guardian. You can now expect a lack of public support for new Guardian finds.

It sounds like the Thargoids and their worshipers might be trying to divide and conquer our region of space through negative PR surrounding all things Guardian, thus weakening systems that refuse Guardian tech out of fear of prosecution for Guardian worship.

As The Far God belief spreads, more and more systems will be refusing and/or banning Guardian tech due to the recent legislation and fear of prosecution over false reports of Guardian worship.

This is gonna get ugly.

New theory: The eternal void is actually the Thargoid spies destabilising the support for the race that makes the only weapons that can kill them efficiently… the Guardians :D

We've had it the wrong way around this whole time!

Can't believe that even 1000 years from now humanity is still killing each other over religion.... would of thought at some point people would have learned their lesson and co-exist peacefully..... :(

The Church of the Far God is apparently from a player group lore.

I wonder if the natures of the two churches is actually a metaphor for the real interactions between the Thargoids and the Guardians.

The only account we have is from the Guardians point of view, but they are terribly violent zealots when it came to suppressing heresy and difference of opinion within their own society and suppressing and controlling their own AI

So what if the Thargoids just did what they are doing with humanity now.
Turned up to collect their stuff, the Guardians resisted and asked them to give up, or even made more unreasonable demand like surrender, give up AI, become hunting stock, and then fought the Thargoids with the same religious zeal that triggered their two civil wars.

Not saying the Thargoids aren't dangerous and will kill to see their objectives met, but that it was the mentality of both species that was the reason for the conflict.

The Thargoids just wanted their stuff and was removing an infestation, with no reason to negotiate

And the Guardians, being incapable of coping with ideologies outside their own, pushed to destroy why is different as the Thargoids would not come around to their way of thinking.

Surely you noticed the Theocracy Minor factions waging wars by now.

But not in the Empire, it is a strictly secular state
