Civ VI on sale worth it?

Both Endless Space and Civ6 have broken AI, though I admit Civ6 is in the class of its own.

AI in general is the main reason why Galactic Civilizations II and III are my favorite space 4X games. Not that it's perfect mind, but at least the other races act in a believable manner according to each races traits, diplomacy and player actions. That and the fact there are no predefined "lanes" between systems, you can move your ships freely across the map.

With the right tech you can in ES too, although unless the lanes are stacked against you, it's slower. Personally, as silly as they are, I really enjoy starlanes in 4x games. Loved the alternative dynamics it gives, since the old Master of Orion, with fleet, lanes, chokepoints and (often) uninterruptible travel between the stars making movements a more commited act. GC2 always felt to me like playing Civilization with a mod that changed skins and removed terrain. No-space-lanes can have a great feel though if done right, DWU being the shining beacon in the genre.
