Civil War in Khan

This is a Public Service Announcement brought to you by Taco Corp:

There is a Civil War in the Khan System between the Khan Universal Inc (a Federation faction) and the Corvos. Currently the Khan Universal Inc have ~23% influence and control one station while the Corvos are at 22% and do not control any station.

What is all this lark about Corvos? I hear nothing about it on PC, so I'm guessing it's an Xbox thing. What gives?

Corvos is a known griefer group, who in the past has delighted in hunting new CMDRs and other such deplorable acts. They claim to be pirates, but give any true pirates a bad taste in their mouth. Awhile back they made the threat of mercilessly attacking starter systems if FD didn't concede to their demands of fixing minor faction and control issues. The xbox community banded together to run BB missions (in solo play) against them. In a twist of fate the very broken mechanics that stopped them from completely owning the system also spared them from being completely kicked out. When they patched the dynamics; they suffered a crippling blow and lost control of the 1 station that was given to them by FD.

I say let them be ,if they are busy with there home system they might leave the rest of us alone .plus more than likely they will be in solo to avoid certain players

So Corvos is the faction backed by CODE?
Sounds like I need to get over there and do my part to decrease their influence

It's a moot point, people. Corvos (the group) has publically stated through Corvos (the user profile on the forum) that they've abandoned Khan. They don't call it home anymore and I don't think any members are there (not certain on that last part). The whole Burn Khan debacle lead them to give up on the system for the time being. I don't know if they have plans to try again later.

As far as I know Corvos and CODE are un related to each other. When we say they're "CODE on Xbox" we mean that they're known grievers who attack and kill players for no reason other than to kill players.

They Used to be Griefers The Head of Corvos restructured and are now just PvPers and pirates, don't know if he actually got rid of the griefers or just reigned them in

I've been shot down by Corvos members more than once, before I really even knew they were a "thing". I've been to the point of bankruptcy because of some CG CMDR hunting. I've gotten upset about it before.
However, I've changed my mind. Mind you, I still get ticked off when I'm shot down without even an attempt at messaging. But I can respect the player driven villain faction. I believe straight griefing is done by a minority of the group. I believe the over arching message is to pirate, not to grief. Unless you're in a combat ship with no cargo. Then you will be engaged without mercy. Learned that the hard way.
Moral of the story, I don't hate Corvos. I like the feeling of fear when flying in occupied space. I think the difficult part is communication. Not everybody jumps on the forums to find out why CMDR's are shooting them down. It can be off putting without communication, and Elite Dangerous doesn't exactly hold your hand.

Unfortunately this is xbox and communication sadly, doesn't happen as much as it used to. I remember long ago on the 360 when it was still a thing, but with the introduction of parties it stopped, and no one wants to type things in a text chat. Hopefully with the new chatpad we will see more Chatting but I won't get my hopes up. I message but I don't expect responses

Too true! I've discovered that the Smartglass App works wonders. Now I never fly without my tablet nearby to shoot off quick messages to CMDR's without going to the console message screen and the clunky controller keyboard while no longer seeing the cockpit. Elite Dangerous was the reason I downloaded Smartglass. Wish it was better advertised for this purpose. Maybe I'll start that thread...and I'll stop derailing now. Sorry!

The funny part is, i have never met these taco corp people in combat, they hide in solo so i am told.

Come to Khan, it is lonely there. We will continue our efforts around the galaxy though. Enjoy undermining an already lost system, we care not for pve.

You know what! How about you actually help bring the influence up instead? Then Corvos will all be like "oooooh we haZ stationZ" and come back. Then you can take it out again in a community effort and we will return to our nomad like state.

Yep, because, you know, we are able to wing up in solo. We're magical like that.
