Civilian targets

Sorry to make a new thread for this, I'm sure it's been talked about. (search didn't bring anything up and my post in the Beta discussion didn't bear any fruit.)

Who am I going after on these missions? I'm not entirely clear.

(That's all!)

I haven't done this missions yet, but I think you'll find civilian ships as 'unknown signal source' when flying in supercruise. Those also be pirates out for your cargo, you can't be sure.

I stopped at such a signal source yesterday and it was just a ship with a clean status, minding its own business... so I think that would qualify as civilian?

I've done one of these missions.

Nightflash is correct. You just have to fly around and find some vessels like cargo or anything else that is not related to law enforcement or wanted.
I completed this mission by going to Eranin Navigation Beacon. There was a lot of civilian traffic and I killed some of them. But you will "earn" a really bad reputation.

Went to Ward - couldn't find any civilians, just loads of grain floating in space. Tried pirating them around the station and got turned into space dust very rapidly.

Hey ! same question here :)

I was looking for civilian Inside the Wyrd system but I was unable to find them :p

I stopped to three unknown signal.

1 . there was dropped Hydrogen fuel at the first, so of course i took them. I wanted to sell them later.

2 . Pirate -_-v ! This guy wanted my cargo. Now he just fly forever Inside the wyrd system without ship. mouahahah !

3. 2 ship, security defense ! Scan on me, stolen fuel dicovered. They attacked me so hard. So I just run the most i was able then finally finished to engage the superCruise. escape done, phew ... 16% Hull !

Conclusion :

-no civilian ship found.
-1kCr spend to repair.
-unable to sell the 4 hydrogen fuel tank (they are flagged as 'Stolen')

Questions :

Where can i find these Civilian ship ? And more large question, is there an easy way to target/detect a mission target ? For example a specific pirate, civilian, conflict zone etc... Should i continue the way i used, roaming around & stop at unidentified signal ?

Is there a way to sell these 'stolen' (they were found in space :( ) fuel tank somewhere ?

Thank you !

At a station there might be 'Black market' in the contacts section. There is at LHS 2887. I don't think every system will have a black market but anarchy ones should have, for instance.

The galactic average for fuel is 64 credits, so it's only worth so much bother.

Hey thank you, I will take a look !

I'm not really aware about the price of goods, but you know, even for 64Cr, Cash is Cash for me actually :)

Unidentified signals should rotate and generate fairly random scenarios.

I had one recently with a civvie ship (Cobra) who was flying away from two security vessels (having just been checked). In that instance, you'd simply chase the civvie until clear of the security services.

I think for the most part, that the missions are only part implemented, and often time do not have specific targets (they are at this time akin to MMO farming missions, but without a specific battle zone). If you find issue with any, I would suggest reporting those issues as the devs will want to tidy and improve the availability of these generic missions.

On the subject of stolen cargo, most anarchy stations will have a black market in which you can trade your stolen goods. Go to Contacts -> Black market.

Isn't there usually a nav beacon just next to a star you've jumped to with a bunch of civilians flying about. Seems like a good way to find targets for these types of missions.

How do you get to the Wyrd System?

I cannot locate it.

N E help appreciated...

Commander Stewbing---out..

Cheers
