Claire's Sancturary - Old age failure conditions.

I have no idea if this is intended, or a bug, but this ruins the experience for me. With hours into the building the map, suddenly to have a mission failure, because one of the original 3 dinosaurs dies of old-age, with is very frustrating, especially as it's an already completed mission objective, and the dinosaur is easily replaced. There is nothing to state that this is a condition for failure, but worse still, is there's no way to know this is why the mission is failing, without constant reloading of the save game, and being in the right place at the right time. This is why I suspect this failure condition is actually a bug.

Please remove failure conditions on dinosaurs which are no longer part of a mission objective, dynamically assign any future mission to a new dinosaur, put a tracker on screen for this objective, or make it that mission dinosaurs don't die of old age.

Mission 3: "Edutainment" is the last one that needs all the original Nublar dinos to be alive. If this is happening with Mission 4: "Sanctuary's success", then yes it is a bug.

You kind of have to rush through the missions.

Thanks for the info. That indeed sucks, as I'm on the last part of the Edutainment mission, with placing the tour, and the dino has been dying randomly each time I try, right as I place the structure. It's not even one of the required dinos for that mission, or any of the previous missions. Very frustrating to have that happen, especially as there's no indication whatsoever of why the mission fails, not even a "dino has died" message.

This was my second play through, as I encountered the issue on the previous save, and had no idea what was happening. It took some investigating to realise, which isn't very fun. Not sure how much quicker I can get to be honest, and the thought of having to rush like that, to work-around something that seems like a bug, and could happen randomly after hours of gameplay, is not very encouraging for me to go try a third time.

Yeah, it is a bit disheartening. If you do go for it again, I'd advise saving just after Mission 2 is completed (age of death is a fairly random, I feel you've just been a bit unlucky, also it might be good to ensure every herbivore has at least one positive plant, you can have feeders with just one plant).
