Class 0 salvage missions should have NO soldiers in them

Class 0 is as low as anything can go. if we cant get a salvage mission once in a while without dying, why bother? If you think a Class zero mission needs 4 soldiers or more then change the lists because if I want to fight soldiers Class zero isn't what I'd choose. As it is now I don't do salvage missions at all because even Class zero has too many soldiers for me to mess with.

I agree class 0 should have a very small chance of combat.

However, if they are present just take them out with your ship, fit missiles.
Alternatively to that take them down with your SRV.

The threat rating in the mission descriptor means nothing. This was apparently "fixed" in the alpha but clearly FDev's definition of fixed is at odds with reality.

You can have threat 0 missions with 2 waves of enemy reinforcements and threat 4-5 with no enemies at all.

Nah, a bit of danger is good for you.
While I do agree it can sometimes be annoying... once I was about to crack open a crashed satellite and an enemy DBX very literally just FELL on me. I cursed out loud at that. It then went back in the air, moved a few hundred meters away, then dropped combatants like it was normally supposed to.

I'd also like an audio cue for on-foot (the sudden whirr/blip sound of a ship exiting SC can sometimes be heard but not all the time) that a ship is nearby. Even that familiar click you hear while in your ship would do.

If nothing else, your suit has a contacts panel that can detect the presence/absence of people - my main concern with putting that front and centre on the HUD is that it'd ruin moments like a guy I know who spotted a hollow square heading down to a planet, followed it and it was a powerplay enemy so they landed a short distance away and quickly dismissed their ship before heading in on-foot without lights. They found the player in question cutting open a panel and nailed them with the overload tool.

If your HUD immediately piped up to warn you every time a ship popped into the area, or gave you a constant reading of the number of contacts on sensors, those little stealthy moments would be ruined - sure, they could have noticed the person's arrival if they constantly checked contacts or left the bandwidth meter running, but those are kinda... I dunno, doesn't feel in the spirit of the game.

And I for one like having to keep my wits about me and not be able to rely on any sort of "the area is currently clear of people" indicator.

Land a short distance (2-300m) away, jump out in your SRV to gun down any targets before hopping out to pick up the pieces.

tried that frog...killed one and the rest grenaded me to death. tried again on another one and after hitting one guy 4 different times with the gun he was still up and shooting...that gun isnt a sure thing

if they're tossing grenades at you and actually hitting that means you're not moving, which is your main mistake. The main advantage the SRV has over footsloggers isn't the gun or the shields or the hull, it's the fact that it can bomb along at 30m/s and rapidly disengage whenever its shields are low.

As for the gun not being a sure thing, well, the gimble wobble when it's not in turreted mode can be a little tricky, but you know what's less tricky?
