Class 4 Corrosive resistant cargo rack

Hello all knowing plant lovers/haters Is there a benefit to (spending matts) unlocking this over the standard class 1 that can be purchased with just credits?

At the moment, I'd say only of you're going to farm and sell thargoid commodities, but there are faster ways to earn money out there. Though, who knows, maybe it'll be worth farming and unlocking it for the future :)

To more directly answer your question, it's not required for anything in the game. Just do it if you have time to kill.

Thanks all, I feel I should have asked before unlocking as the matts to get this was quite extensive and all I wanted to do was explore the active thargoid structures. Anyway got it now - all I need is a thargoid narrative :) - nothing lost but a couple of hours at Davys.

Every SRV is seriously depressed. It's good to have more than one of anything you may be carrying that's needed to open doors.

That was my reasoning, anyway.

You don't actually need any thargoid items to get into a thargoid structure.
It used to be the case in Odyssey that the doors weren't programmed to recognize commanders on foot, so it was possible to get stuck inside if you lost your SRV. So fdev fixed it by letting the doors open from the inside if you're on foot. But the range of activation is a little bit bigger than it should be so if you park outside, disembark and sidle up to the outside edge of the closed doors, the game thinks you're trapped on the inside and will open the doors to let you out. Then you can jump back in the SRV and go inside.

You still need a probe or sensor in the SRV to get the door to open though, right? Various reasons I never got around to it. I'm more thinking about being able to re-enter to continue trying different things (or just make a few more grelics) if my SRV suicides, taking whatever is in it to Scarab heaven. Admittedly the last one was pretty entertaining... 300m straight up then boom.
