Class 7 or 6 shields for Clipper?

A modded 4A Shield is what i use currently. The Clipper is fast enough to run from everything it can not defeat (especially NPCs), so more shields are not needed. I use the Class 6 slot though for a 6B Shield Cell Bank. 2 Shield Boosters and 2 Heatsinks are also there (u need the Heat Sinks to run the SCB). The 6B SCB has 6 charges that can replenish your shields from almost down to full strengh, even when fired upon.

I liked your idea when I 1st read it, but then again, on second thought... 4A??? Hmmm...

Just a question, why the 6D Thrusters? Why not 6A Thrusters instead, since they only have advantages? The Clipper can handle 6A Thrusters without power shortage issues, right?

It's kinda up to you, there's a difference between C6 and C7 Shield Generators...

If not already, you can use this to test builds conveniently: https://coriolis.io/

Never flown the Clipper btw ;)

There's a more up to date version of Coriolis that includes all the changes from 2.2.

I'd probably use the class 6 shields on my clipper. I don't think fighting is really what the Clipper is about, so I'd want to leave plenty of room for activities.

Well the internal name for the Clipper is Imperial trader.

But some crazies are using warships such as the Corvette as an explorer or miner so it doesn't matter what Frontier or the players think what each ship should be used for.

7c biweaves with 4 a rated boosters, grade5 thermal on the shields, 2 g5 resist boosts, and 2 g5 heavy duty boosters puts you at 635mj that regen at 4.4/sec and 38/50/50 % dmg resistance and still have room for 104 cargo with a size 4 scoop.

6D's are lighter, which improves your FSD jump range, and with some DD4 or DD5 tuning the performance is quite exceptional.

For trading, 6A shield without a shadow, if its "safe" maybe even class 4 for more cargo capacity.

For combat, 7C BI-WEAVE with Mil-grade hulls or better, hull and mod reinforcements in the slot 4's and an AFU, honestly its such a unique combat vessel this way.

Unless your exploring store the default light weight alloy and keep the mil-grade (or reflective) etc, shes still insanely nimble and she hull tanks a hell of a lot better than shield...Shields are her weak spot.

I use 2 boosters, engineer them for resistence rather than capacity, her shields will never be great. You can get a good 23LY laden/29-30LY unladen out of her when engineerd and insane boost speeds even with just DD3.

Im a Clipper guy, use it for everything, barely use my Annie because of her.
