Elite / Frontier Classic elite feature

Hi guys, in the past on Commodore C64 I was playing elite. And at one time, I got an offer to buy some kind of cat or furry whatever from some guy for a lot of money and when I did, it just multiplied in my cargo hold ad infinitum. I remember that when the numbers went to like 16000 of those animals, the started slowly creeping across my HUD blocking my view. It was super funny, but ultimately game-destroying, because if I bought escape module and blew my ship, always one of them survived and started multiplying again.

Do any of you remember that funny feature? What was it named etc? I was fairly young and it is really long ago, I would like to read up on that but dont know what to google as that what I wrote is all I can remember:)

Thanks

We all should make practical field studies concerning Tribble/Trumble populations in our familiar galaxies. ;)

Indeed, if we do not burn our little fellows at nearest star how big population can exists? In Practice, on your Cobra Mk III's cargo bay... and on the screen?

Every Classic Elite version is different in this matter of course! Please, provide suitable screenshots with necessary background data. SAVE THE TRIBBLES! (=how dense population is possible on your screen and in your cargo bay, before you start lose your ship's equipment?)

After all, you paid some Credits for keeping them out of extinction!

Interesting element to the game , critters on planets , bugs in the food, ( bad bugs ) explosive unstable cargo, virus/ radiation sickness cause you keep flying too close to a fission reactor ( star ) THEN you get sick and your vision goes , have to be talked into dock , ...left ..no more left ....stop ... Wish there was more display instruments for landing , that way the hud could be coated with body parts from exploring ships, cant see there's a spleen in the way.
dock repair clean windscreen
