Classic Skyride / Skyfari

I have a suggestion for a new ride for planet zoo.
In the 1960-80s many (mainly north american) zoos had so calles Skyrides or Skyfaris (old cable cars, mainly the classic VR101 cable cars built by the swiss company Von Roll). As this would be a more realistic cable car than the actually existing, ugly gondola ride which is more a suspension railway than a real gondola, it would be a very cool addition to Planet Zoo.
The features could be:
- stations that can optionally be used in manual mode, where 3 employees would be needed to carry the cabins around the station and helping the passengers getting out or into the cabin or in an automatic mode (like modern cable cars)
- optional number and size of the towers
- optional cabins (closed 2 person cabins, closed or open 4 person cabins)
- a lot of possible animations (the staff that push the cabins through the station, opens the cabin door for the passengers and (after the passengers entered the cabin) then pushes the cabin onto the section where it connects to the hauling cable.

It would be important that the cable car can only be build in a straight line.

I would absolutely love a gondola in Planet Zoo!!! The one we have now is unrealistic, and there is absolutely no argument against that. Anyway, I actually just thought about the sky ride after looking at this thread and then thought about San Diego Zoo's skyride, then it clicked. We all know Planet Zoo has some sort of relationship with the San Diego Zoo, and their skyride is very basic and general (which is what we need more of in the game!). So I can see them working with the San Diego Zoo to make this happen, as long as their trams and double decker buses (even though the buses would be pretty unrealistic when compared to most zoos).

I just hope, if they someday release a cable car, that it's not the same like it was in Planet Coaster (that you can build curved cable cars....which is absolutely unrealistic). And that it will really the old Von Roll VR101 cable car instead of something modern/futuristic (because these have been the most common cable cars for zoos or theme parks).

You know that there's gonna be some kind of "Frontier" in a skyride. I mean, you already see it with all of the other transport rides... one car on the monorail (my biggest issue with Planet Zoo seriously), jeep tracks, small train ride, ridiculously sized gondolas. This can even go back to Planet Coaster with the type of rides they had in there. I think what it is, is that since Frontier is a European company, they're rides specifically are influenced by European rides, which in some instances are vastly different and weird to Americans and Canadians. Anyway, I would expect some kind of zebra or tiger print on the cars, but if that's all that there is, I'm totally fine with it, as long as they, like you said, don't bend. Also, I would like for them to have turnaround points so there can only be one station, that was not a thing for the Planet Coaster gondola system. Hopefully they can improve that with Planet Zoo.

The VR 101 cable cars are built by a swiss company (similar ones were standing in Bavaria or one at Stuttgart...(I guess that they built even more of them across europe for exhibitions)). So it acutally would fit perfectly to Frontier.

I wish - the current Gondola is disgustingly obtuse. Having a ski-lift would be perfect for a smaller zoo that can only afford that.
Agree - have started at least three threads on this myself - this is another one - bring on the cable - cable car - enclosed cabins and long forward facing monorail trains. Covered for the icy climes of the world. 🚡🚠🚝🚂 And almost forgot -cable cars for the new mountain features they are hinting at. Love you Frontier :)

I said it many times already and I will say it again.

The current rides are somewhat very unrealistic. I am not saying they cant exist, but...how many of you have seen these in a zoo? Jeps on trails without a driver? Weird futuristic orbs with frames so big that it looks very out of place in any zoo instead of classic cable way? Gondolas on trail??

The least I hope for is a classic cable way and a jeep without a trail.

The monorail and the train ride are actually really realistic. And there are similar boat rides (i don't know if they are powered by a rope or a track in the water) for example in germany (in the Leipzig Zoo or in the Luisenpark at Mannheim)..the only completely unrealistic ride in my opinion is the gondola (Ueno Zoo at Tokyo had a similar train, but that was a real train, not a single gondola (even if the concept with the vehicle hanging on a track is the same).

Yeah like I said, they surely exist somewhere, but I would still argue that they are not that common, and to be honest I dont use these rides for the exact reason, nothing like this was in any zoo I have ever visited, so I cannot really relate to it.
