Classic Star Wars Games now up for grabs on Good Old Games

Like many others I'm sure, these helped fill the void between Elite games for me. X-Wing and Tie Fighter were such an exhibition in dogfighting and ship management done right. I'm glad Elite Dangerous feels a little like these .

Finally!

I bought a DOS rig off ebay specifically to play these - and of course the SCSI hard drive has now died

Excellent gaming fun - there's nothing quite like annihilating x-wings!

Another great choice is "Freespace Open", ( google it). When Volition went away the gave Freespace to the open source community. All you need is a copy of FS2 which you can get on GOG and the FSO code, free. There are WC and BSG projects that run on FSO as well as new Freespace campaigns.

I remember having loads of fun with X-Wing and Tie Fighter years ago. I'll probably pick these up whenever there's a sale on.

yeah definitely needs to be bought in a sale, very happy to see the game but £6.19 is a bit much for a 20 year old game

I wonder how good the emulation is. X-Wing was fairly easy to get working on DosBOX, but I always had problems with getting TIE Fighter to work smoothly.
