Completely agree, was disappointed to hear they toned down the smears on the Cobra in 1.3, it looks stunning in virtual reality
As someone planning on a stay out until my ship starts threatening my life trip, I'd consider it a badge of honor to return with a frosted windshield.
Honestly, it doesn't have to get that bad, but it'd be made up by the fact that it'd be crystal clear to start with. You can always use the Debug camera to enjoy the view, just pretend you've gone EVA.
The build quality of ships these days. My Vulture has got an extremely annoying rattle right behind the seat. Sounds like the skeletons of a thousand rats in a blender. I get out of the seat to check it - its gone. Is the dealer any help? Oooh nooooo take your money and vanish, the scoundrels.
At least the SqueegeeSquad do the windows properly.

I noticed and thought it was my monitor screen but after cleaning I realised my mistake. I like the dirty / scuffed screen look, makes the ship looked lived in.
There also seems to be quite a difference in the amount of dirt shown on ships. I noticed that the Cobra was particularly heavy on the dirt/dust/smears on the windscreen but it's not as noticeable to me on other ships.

Ah, makes me fondly remember X2 when the occasional space fly would go splat on your windscreen.
It's entirely possible in the future that we'll see mass immigration from some of the poorer systems, resulting in an explosion of hand space ship washes opening up along every major and minor trade route. Dirty windscreen problem solved.

Canopy "crazing" is common IRL. It's really bad with curved canopy surfaces like my F-16A. Maddening when you're trying to pick out targets.

Agree. Though, have you infact checked if you reassembled the hat rack correctly? It solved the problem in my Asp Explorer. No more squeaks. Best of all, you can fix it yourself, no need to contact your authorized dealership.
I've never had a Cobra, but it made me think about the Vulture's intense Creaking from expansion/contraction when boosting. Makes me feel like I'm in the Galactica after the mutiny just before the series end. Hmm. Now where's my Brush and bucket of Cylon Goo..
