I open Elite through Steam, which then opens the launcher. In the launcher, I click Play and the button goes from light blue to dark blue for 5 seconds (indicating it is registering my click) and then reverts back to light blue. My game will not open at all, nothing happens. I have tried every possible solution such as restarted PC, logged in/out of launcher, updated drivers/PC, I even reinstalled the game. Nothing is working. Anyone have a similar issue and know how I can fix this? It was working perfectly fine last night and now I haven't been able to log in all day. Thanks

I am having the exact same issue and have had it before. I thought I solved it by reinstalling but, where I live, reinstalling takes all day, so it may have just fixed itself. It also costs me 20 dollars to reinstall so I can't just keep doing this. I'm going to try to wait it out a Little but if it doesn't work this afternoon I will be forced to fork over the 20 bucks again. The issue tracker also does not work for me right now so I can't report it or ask frontier what to do, yay.

Another work around is to edit your EDLaunch.exe.config file (make a copy first!) see if it shows these lines:

<supportedRuntime version="v2.0.50727"/>
<supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/>
</startup>
Just delete the line ' <supportedRuntime version="v2.0.50727"/> ' save the file and see if that helps. (Many computers don't have version 2 installed.)
