Client download (Mercenary Edition)

Hi there!

Just Pre-Ordered the Mercenary Edition Edition, and did wonder if I could already load the game client? I imagine the servers will be quite stressed on 16. December .

(Also, due to living somewhere lost in some back-country, my bandwidth has Volume - I'd like to use it this month instead of next )

We just got the Gamma/Preview build ... so no, you cannot download the full client. I would imagine they will be tweaking the game and fixing bugs right up until the release time on December 16th.

Sorry, but you'll just have to wait.

From what I've understood, at some point during next week, the client will be made available to Digital Mercenary-customers, and from that moment onward you will be able to download the client and play tutorials. David Braben mentioned this in another thread where he was talking about people who have pre-ordered the game at the store:

They will be able to play the single player combat test shortly after the Premiere event (ie during the following week), then the full game at release.

EDIT: Just watched a recording of the premiere event where it was revealed that the exact date when the client and tutorials will be available is Wednesday 26th.

This is still only the preview build of the client. It really won't reduce the download you'll have to do on the 16th.

You will, however, at least have some experience versus those who wait. The tutorials were at least semi-helpful.

The single player missions do a fine job teaching you how to fight, at least.
