Client Download Spped - What are you exoperiencing?

Hi Everyone, I'm looking forward to getting invovkled when the gates open...

But it appesrs i would be doing anything for atleast 243hours with the DL speeds im seeing.

I'm sat at 0mbs with occcasionaly 3-5spikes upto 240kbs If i'm lucky. I might have said this is because of high demand, but i was experiencing it on saturday when i bought the game and THGOUGHT i was downloading the game but actually downloading the tutorial!

Anyhow i'm interested for other's experience. So we can compare notes and isolate if it a personal connection thing or a Frontier issue. Perhaps to much load?

If it is is load, does anyone know of a p2p option?

guess im an unlucky man... tried a few things now and my state hasnt improved. I'm Reading, England and about 100m from the central box!

So far downloads of updates take around a minute, I downloaded the whole client in September and it took less than 15 minute
I have BT infinity at 70/10Mb and am in the Southampton area UK

i'm not downloading nothing atm.
I guess the alpha and beta don't need to download out then?

shhh, it's 40 mins early, if we stay veeery quiet the servers might have more bandwidth for us before the hoards arrive at 12!

my download is running at about 3mb, my max download is 40mb on BT fibre

though having said that the download just dropped to 0, curse you server hamsters, work your little legs off!

At what point can i throw my toys out the pram! ;)

I've been DL'ing since 10am and im barely past 50%!

Frontier! You have me by the balls... I've sacked off work today and i appears i'm destined to look at a progress bar all day!

Please if the loads are too great for your servers make it available via a third party source - P2P hint hint - help us, help you!

Files seem to be hosted on "AWS | Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)". Currently dl'ing with about 10MBit/s here (50Mbit/s Cable, GER).

0... absolutely zero. Still isn't downloading. But then again, I'm at work and my PC at home isn't even switched on. Maybe that doesn't help either. :(

What are you guys downloading? When I go to my downloadable games Elite Drangerous is grayed out and unclickable. I have the Mercenary edition.

Never had a issue downloading updates never take more then a few mins whole download in less then 15 mins on 1st install

as a merc i have not had access to gamma. my download today has now finished and when i logged in the version at the bottom was gamma, but the server responded with "your version is too new". so i'm not sure if there will be another update to get it out of gamma, or if they are just waiting to flick the server on at 12

so, the allowing mercs to download gamma is new, hopefully that means i now have the vast bulk of the game pre-loaded :)

Whats merc and gamma? (beta is obv)

I got the pre-order version on sunday, and the client version i see dl'ing through the launcher is 0.4.1765.0 which suggest im not even dl'ing the release client. I would expect that to be 1.0.x. Howeve i expect i'm makign too many assumptions there as i can't be sure of frontier naming convention or lack thereof.
