"Climbing", "Hanging Down" animations and "Burrowing" system for Chinese Pangolin

I would like to ask for 3 new animations for this unique animal that is somewhat underrepresented in the game.

1- They can climb well and require climbing structures in their enclosures.

2- They have a prehensile tail, and can hang upside down like the binturong. Since we already have this animation in the game, please add it to the pangolin.

I think the climbing behavior was ignored thinking they are strictly ground pangolins, which isn't true. They are somewhere in between tree pangolins and ground pangolins who both burrow and climb.

I'm really hoping burrowing will be added to both animals and I do feel like the burrowing animation will be added to several animals like they are currently doing with deep swimming. What I hope for the most is some proper mechanics and scenery for nocturnal houses to follow.

I've always wanted to see the pangolins climb and hang down! Even have climbing structures in all my pangolin habitats knowing they won't use them.

I wasn't very hopeful about burrowing, but now that it is in the game, pangolins and aardvarks should definitely benefit from this new mechanic.

These new animations would make pangolins more interesting to play around with, instead of the current bland horizontal navigation system they have. They are one of the most underrated animals in the game and these animations would definitely help people notice them more.

While it is a good idea and I would love this for modding reasons (Silky anteaters and tamanduas uwu) I don’t expect Frontier to go back and add animations to an already obscure and forgotten animal unless if they have another pangolin on the way. Why invest all that time into something with minimum reward, I’d sooner expect them to give big cats deep swimming instead.

I think this is exactly why Frontier might consider adding new animations to the pangolin because they have said in their dev blogs that every animal in the game is unique and precious to someone and they want to do them justice

Why invest all that time into something with minimum reward, I’d sooner expect them to give big cats deep swimming instead.

I think it's a bigger reward than deep swimming for formosan black bear and sun bear, because climbing and burrowing is much more iconic for the pangolin than diving is for those two animals.

Speaking of deep swimming, I think those two bears proved we should expect even more odd choices for other animals receiving deep swimming. For instance out of the lizards I would have only expected nile monitor to receive it, but now I am expecting komodo dragons too.

I would love if they would be able to climb. Would make their enclosures desins much more interesting + the hanging animation would be a cherry on the top. I dont nessecery need them to dig though.

Well aside from deep diving added to other animals, Frontier also added sun-bathing lemur animations I think? So there is always a hope.

Personally I would love them to, because I really want nocturnal houses in the game. There are several animals in the game right now that are suitable for nocturnal houses and with 4+1 animals, proper nocturnal house mechanics plus more burrowing and digging animations for a few of the existing animals would be enough to make an amazing pack.

I agree that "forgotten" animals are given more love by Frontier. For instance, I believe the polar bear received so much attention because of them not being used as much due to their space requirements. We can technically expect a similar approach for the pangolin.

Another behaviour and enrichment item that could be added to the Chinese pangolin is wallowing in the mud bath enrichment. Although the animals in this video are ground pangolins from Africa, I have found at least one source that suggests Chinese pangolins being kept at Taipei Zoo enjoy wallowing:

Thought they gave them the Ability to climb when I've looked them up in the Zoopedia some Time ago and it showed that a climb proof Fence is required.
Would be nice to see. I also want to see that Tree Feeder from the Video. Not only for Pangolins but also for small Primates.

Would love to see them hang on their Tail. This definitely also needs to be added to the Capuchin Monkey.

Also agree regarding burrowing for Pangolins and Aardvarks. Didn't know that they live in so many Biomes before I've seen the Burrowing Video.

It's Fun creating Nocturnal Houses but we always need to dig down for them, which looks amazing but we should really also get the Ability to create one without needing to do this. Maybe we could get something like a Light blocking Wall Set which is thinner than normal Walls, so we can hide it inside them.

Cute and interesting. Would be also nice to see. I bet if they would include all of these Behaviors, the Chinese Pangolin would get a really big Boost in Popularity.

It seems like juvenile Pangolins also sometimes climb onto their Mothers Back

Yeah, what I meant by proper nocturnal house mechanics and building pieces was exactly this. Either some sort of special barrier or new building pieces that serve the same purpose. Also proper lighting for these indoor areas.

I've used one of the Spotlights in the last one I've built. It looks really nice when you found the right Shade of blue for it and place it high enough. Just wish, they would finally fix all the other Lamps

I would like to make an update to my post. It's been some while since I played so I've only recently learned that the game now has two burrowing methods. New one is much better for pangolins. So instead of meerkat animations the pangolins should be given the pre made burrows, which would be more suitable! great to have these now!
