Ok so I've read a few posts on CMDR getting a clipper at rank ? Below the rank of Barron

Has any one actually done this and please don't TROLL me on this if you haven't then please don't respond

And if you have then please can you supply the star system and station please

I'm flying a clipper rank master as long as your friendly with the system the the shipyard should be able too sell you one

I got mine at Knight. The system doesn't seem to matter, apparently if you are allied with a system that sells a Clipper, you can purchase it at a lower rank. Make sure you have plenty of cash, 30 mill or more (ideally 40 million or more) you won't get far with a stock Clipper.

just be aware that this is a BUG .

I didn't have to do much combat, it was mainly delivering supplies and helping to keep other trade ships safe by killing a few high profile pirates. The bulk of missions are hauling supplies for free

I am only Master and I have a Clipper (bought from Nu).

I was already friendly or allied with several factions before starting the Ascension missions.

You get to be friendly with all Empire factions (that you haven't otherwise already trashed your reputation with) after you get the Achenar permit.

Not sure what rank I am, not at my ED computer at the moment, but it's the rank you get to right after the assassination mission. I purchased Clipper at this rank. Not sure if I was friendly with the faction owning the station, but I certainly wasn't allied.

I'm not a baron(ess) but I did get the Imperial Clipper at master rank. (Allied With Princess Aisling Duval's Empire party in Cemiess) :) Good luck

got mine this evening at knight rank, but i am allied in 2 systems and friendly with the empire, and she's so much nicer than the type 7 :)

I've been able to buy one since... well forever, hadn't done much in the way of Imperial navy rank but had worked on my faction significantly. At Friendly with the Empire, there didn't appear to be a rank requirement any more.

Just to be on the safe side, I made sure I made Baron though before investing in Clipperdom, also Allied with the Empire - just in case it is a bug and FD take some kind of retrospective action.
