Now that the Nu CG has been completed (incredibly fast) and Imperial Clippers are ~15mils, it is about time FDev fix the Imperial Navy Rank Progression Missions so that we people that are stuck at Lord can get to Baron and enjoy a piece of Gutamaya sexiness. The have 14 days until the discount is over.

Just got my Rank last night and bought the Clipper for full price.
Tips for climbing the Naval Empire Ranks.
Spread the love.. I found chaining the delivery missions made them pop like crazy..
Do a delivery for an Empire faction, after you've delivered, find out who is Empire Allied in that station, then do a delivery for them... repeat.
Involved a bit of waiting and taking the odd Charity mission (huge rep).
But I smashed through them to Baron in no time.
What's important though is when you are allied with a minor faction. Work for different one...or simply move on to another Empire station..

as far as im aware the mission system isn't broken, there are various posts even by myself on how to progress to Baron. it does work, and it is totally achievable in the current game, if you need info on how to progress, just ask

Imperial Clipper is best ship in his price range. You may like or not the looks, but its very good ship nonetheless.

went from master to baron in 3 days... don't see much of a problem with the ranking missions to me

Pretty sure progression is still possible as I went from Baron to Viscount not long ago. However, I'd been a Baron forever and couldn't say for certain if there was any real issue getting to Baron or not.
Anyway, I delivered a whole six tons of metals for the CG and repurchased my Clipper at 15.8 mil from Nu last night, shortly after the goal completed (11 tiers for a 29% discount). Immediately drove it back to Shinrarta to equip it and did a massive rare run for about 4 million profit right after. Survived two attempted pirating attempts (a wing of three FDLs interdicted me once in Lave and some jerk in a Vulture interdicted me three times in a row outside Altair...was way too fast for any of them though), totally unscathed.
I thought the Galnet article made things pretty clear.

Exactly this. Especially missions that take you to an "unsanctioned" outpost (i.e one of those outposts with pirate holograms). There you might find a nice naval progression mission waiting for you. Just sayin' ;-)

I'm allied with Global Empire faction, and all affiliate minor faction are allied.
As i understand, the mission should be done with a minor faction affliliate to Empire one, exact ?
