Clippers for everyone

Those are not real missions that's the way the game gives you permits. There is nothing to do there, it's just a narrative way to give the permit. You have probably already accepted one of those (look in your permits list in your right hand panel) hence why any more are unobtainable. There is a bug that triggers these permit missions after you have it (it's only the last one you got).

The good news is that they are entirely ignorable. This does not affect your promotion progress in any way. Keep working for minor factions that are allied to the Empire (trading, missions, bounty hunting, etc.) and you will eventually see your next promotion mission. It is better to work on several minor factions across several systems.

Actually the progression is so fast it's makes no sense at all. I rather it be slower tho.

Maybe I am hardcore that's why. Can we have a hardcore/Ironman mode please frontier?

This..i was a baron before I could afford a t6.. Maybe because of all the charity missions..lol

But it was worth it for the citizens of tradition :)

+1 same happened to me, thought i was stuck, but i wasnt. After 2 days, another Rank Progression delivery appeared. Right On Commanders, the Clipper is worth it!

Is this a recent thing? do I get my 5 mil difference back? Ooooh nvm, this was for a community goal thing.... I didn't even know there was one going on.

Actually, you could get most of your price difference back:

1.) Fly your Clipper to the Nu system (can't remember the station name)
2.) Sell all upgraded modules
3.) Buy a Sidewinder, cashing in the original purchase price of the Clipper
4.) Buy new Clipper at discount price (obviously selling the paper spaceship)
5.) Buy back all the equipment you sold

Net result should be about 4 million credits back in your account. Also, this lowers your insurance.

The discount is available to everybody, regardless of participation in the Community Goal!

Even if the ship was entirely free I wouldn't want it. Plastic sports cars have no business in space.

I prefer the sports car look over the shoe-boxes with odd winglets design of the Federation.

At Lord now, hopefully the Baron progression mission comes up soonish! With the discount, I have just enough credits for my exploration Clipper outfit + insurance :)

Edit: and it did - fitted it out and went into the great unknown.
