has anybody had the issue where you are sat in the hanger in a station and going through the market then all of a sudden you are flowting in space sometimes watching battles and you cant do any thing about it?????

Several times.

Esc -> Save and quit to main menu -> Multiplayer -> problem solved until next time.

Vanishing Space Station Syndrome, known issue.
