Close Shave

So I was doing a spot of bounty hunting around a nav beacon, when I slammed into a big ship by accident, it smashed my windscreen and the 5min oxygen counter started. I'd never seen this before so wasn't quite sure what was going on and flapped about for a bit. I then checked for the nearest station - over 1700ls away! I targeted it and hit into SC. Was awkward to target due to the partially smashed screen, I had to aim below it to see the HUD. Anyway, I made it to the docking station and it was one of the dodecahedron type ones that are really hard to find the entrance, I had under a minute to get there. Fortunately the entrance was almost facing me and I boosted towards it as fast as possible. I got through the with 4 seconds of oxygen left! Atmosphere was restored and I didn't lose the bounties I had picked up. Relief.

Anyone else had similar close calls?

Yep, something similar happened to me ... ever since that day I've seen the value in A rated life support, now when it happens I finish what I'm doing and calmly plot a route to the nearest station

D rated life support is all you need, if it's far to the station in system then jump to the system next door with one a lot closer, I've had it close before, 20 seconds left etc but it's never been a problem, just have an exit strategy in mind just in case

Was bounty hunting in a Ressource Extraction Site (those are fantastic ! lotsa people fighting and pretty rocks to fly around going "vrrrm" with your mouth) when a python bumped me. Fortunately I was at 4pips in shields and going slow, so he just threw me a bit off course while he went to bump a nearby asteroid. That's what you get for trying to speed past me in a narrow place, you mongrel ! ( plus, he was "clean )
