[CLOSED] Friendly Fire Poll

When wings come in, you won't get penalised for hitting a wing mate.
You already don't get penalised for friendly fire in a warzone.

You should be penalised for hitting security ships in general system space, no matter why you do it

I think a low damage qualifier would be useful to have, so if a stray pulse or multicannon grazes someone's shields, it's no biggie. But obviously 4 instant rail gun shots would still aggro.

I racked up a fair few hits on the peelers back in the beta, but I've learned fire control since then. Maybe people want it changed because they're still getting used to it?

I voted 'nay' but I will concede insta wanted status is a bit silly. A fine would make more sense.

There must be some tolerance towards friendly fire. It's often not the shooters fault. The security vessels fly in the line of fire. Actually it's fairly easy to detect and implement too. If a ship is hit by a shot but is not locked into the shooters target then it's friendly fire and should be ignored if it doesn't happen too often.

It depends what you mean by resolve... You really need to provide more information if your going to post a poll.

Friendly fire is a good thing, it shouldn't be removed if thats what you're suggesting. However the instant bounty for hitting "friendly" ships obviously should be removed and replaced with a fine or infarction notice that doesn't make you wanted along with some sort of aggressor flagging system that ensures if you keep shooting the same target the fine will convert into a bounty. For PvP there should also be a flag to allow retaliation on anyone who has shot you, marking them as the aggressor... In fact I think an aggressor flag should be set when interdicting also for NPCs and players.

But given your lack of explanation I had to vote eh? ;)

The system is honestly fine as it is. Just learn some trigger discipline and stop shooting at targets that aren't yours.

If someone is on the tail of a ship you're trying to shoot, there's a simple solution: don't shoot.

Another simple solution, turn off your "Automatically report crimes done to me" button on your right panel. Have your wingmen do the same.
