does anyone know the answer to this please?

I want to get a few ships transferred here but with no shipyard at Obsidian i need to find another base

(yes i could do some missions and get the lay of the land however i am under time pressure, i have 10 mins on getting home from work to get this underway.

Closest one is 140ly.. build a lightweight conda for thrusters size 5 and up. And transfer them to palin.

If only we knew that palin would do thrusters.. then more people would have chipped in de CG and we would have a shipyard in maia..

Hi Mike,

unless someone comes up with a closer one, i have just done a search for a sidewinder in Inara using Maia as my base and closest base seems to be 64 Arietis / Weyn Dock. Thats showing as 176.92 Ly away and has today as latest update.

Hope this helps, but at that distance i guess not ?

cheers folk. yep that is what i will do. sadly i am there already in my asp... which is ok as she can take class 4 and 5 engines and i have a few ships with those.... BUT alas i do not think palin sells 4A and 5A engines from memory.

so i need to go back and then pop out again in another ship after buying a bunch of engines.

never mind its all a learning game... and besides i have some nice shiny 5D 5* clean thrusters now, and i can boost at around 410 with a top speed of over 300 without boost... not bad for 5D exploration engines.

PS i take it all ships using class 2 and class 3 drives benefit from the overcharged drives?

By 'Engines' I assume you mean FSD. Quick search of eddb.io shows 4A and 5A FSD are available from:

Mitchell Base, HIP 19147, Independent, Large Pad, 191.87 ly

Coincidentally, it's also the closest source for 4A and 5A Thrusters.

thanks... i meant thrusters actually... however both work in this instance :)

PS i didnt know eddb.io had what gear was where. i dont really use external tools much but i guess i need to educate myself
