Closet I have ever been to death

So there I was, jumping to a station to grab my cobra. I emerged from supercruise and this is what I see.

Other than jumping from battle when I had 1% of my hull left, this is the closest I have ever been to death on this save.

I've been experimenting trying to see just how close to the station I can jump in... fly toward station in supercruise... deselect it as target and drop out of SC without target lock. Closest I've come is just a little more than 3km... try not to approach from behind though :)

I am pretty sure the front (safe end) of the station is always facing the planet. So I approach the planet itself at speed, cruse in a 0:05 use the gravity well to brake SC down to 0:07 and curl up to the front the station from inside its orbit. It's one of the faster ways to dock, though I am sure there are better techniques out there.

My Clipper crashed into an Anaconda once in a SSS. Ironically I was helping two of them against Vultures and FDL iirc.
Zero shields and 1% (!) hull left. Heard my heart pumping lol .

It was possible to exit supercruise inside a station during early beta, closest I got was spawning inside a station's superstructure :)

Ah yes getting bounced around between the inner and outer walls....always a favorite. CMDRs don't know they're born these days ;-)
