Old Aquaintance... New Mystery
CMDR Alvarez LOG 11, Star-Date 3301
I just entered a LOG a couple of hours ago, and normally I wait a bit to make another one as to include more than "yup, I jumped to a new system. looks like a station is here. Yeah..." but something weird happened, and I thought it would be best if I logged it for future reference.
I just entered a new system, can't really remember them very well, some are like "The Titanicus Obseleum Foritcus!!!" and others are like "DSOgj-gekb2323-gre" so I kinda lose track of all of them after that.
Like I was saying, entered new system, found a salvageable wreckage. "That's weird." yeah, probably should stop saying weird, but my mind is stuck on it. I dropped out of supercruise and checked it out. I think the only way to really convey this across is just to show you.

Yeah that's a lot of ships. And that's only from one viewpoint. All around me were busted up 'conda's , pythons, there were even a couple of federation cruisers and what looked like the remains of some imperial fighters. Whatever happened here, no one knew about it yet, and it looked like it would stay like that with the S&R service beacons were turned off manually. I mean, pirates try to disable them either remotely, if they are smart enough, or with their weapons, if they are not smart enough. But even one of the three major factions can't turn those things off without being on the ship, and even then they have to have a vast array of backup passwords, biometrics, voice recognition, and brain scans to actually access controls (S&R is very serious about the "search" part of "search and rescue" )
Needless to say, showing up at a wreckage like this, which looked like a small war, and have no S&R signals immediately turned on the "weird" sensors in my brain.
I was about to leave, hoping no one saw me and decided that I should be a part of the wreckage, when I found a signal source in the heart of it. The rest is just going to be a transcribed recording of what happened, because I don't know if I'll relay everything across right after all of that.

I opened the escape pod, a monster of one really. It had markings that I could only assume meant empire, but wasn't sure. The hissing of the atmosphere vent inside of it stopped, and the pod door fell over. Inside was someone I hadn't thought I would ever see again. The figure stepped out of the escape pod as I raised my hand and said "Well, I guess it's never"
Yeah, the crazy gun toting lady from the time I was avoiding Recon was standing in front of me, albeit hanging on to the side of the pod from injuries. I immediately grabbed her and ran her to the medbay. As I laid her down she said to me "I don't get that saying at all." I shrugged "No one probably does, so you're good."
I turned on the scan. Dang she was beat up. The medbay worked it's magic on her while I sat there and watched. She was sleeping, or at least unconscious due to the drugs, and seemed peaceful. She was average hight, about 5'10, with past shoulder length brown slightly curly hair. She had on a flight suit that seemed military, but after further inspection turned out to be private military. As I was noticing the emblem of her organization, which just happened to be on her chest and was extremely small, she woke up to find me with my head basically in her chest. I think it was more awkward for me. She pushed me away and said "Do you inspect all of your newly acquired products?"
I stumbled a bit and asked "What do you mean?" Products didn't sound right for some reason in that sentence
she laid back down, almost sadly, and said "People like you sell me on the black market, or worse, after picking me up in an escape pod. The only real rescue is from S&R"
I sat down. "That is the most stupid rule I have ever heard. Why can't regular people save other regular people without selling them?"
The girl seemed confused "I don't know, that's just how things work, I guess."
"Well the way things work suck" I stood up "I'm not going to sell, you, but I don't know who you are, or where you're going either."
She sat up in the bed "My name is Elara Aiken, and I'm headed to any system loyal to the empire, at least they don't hate me."
I paused, random women hated by all but empire, found in wreckage from federation attacking empire for no real reason, and she's the only survivor which probably meant that she was hidden from the feds and stored away, which could be the reason they fought in the first place! Sound familiar? well, sort of familiar, I guess. But I had to ask.
"When were you born?"
Elara looked surprised at my question, and contemplated for a minute "Well, I was born in the year, um, 3280?" she said it like it was a question with all the grace and poise of a lying third grader.
"Listen, We both know that isn't true, and if I'm right about when you were born, I promise I'll try to explain as much as I can. So please, tell me."
She looked down for a second and then said with a much stronger tone "I was born on march 27th, in the year...2070"
The only response I could give to that was complete and utter shock. I mean sure, she was around the same time period as me, even the year, but month? that's crazy
I stuttered to get a response out at first, but finally said "Well, I was born on march 14th, 2070, and I think I know why everyone but the empire hates you. You may want to relax, cause it's sort of a long story..."

We've lost Commander Alvarez! What happened man? Was you captured and sold into Imperial slavery? I need to know what happens next!
Sorry. I've been pretty busy irl and haven't gotten to much of the game. Hopefully that will change soon, but for now I may be infrequent with when I post.

CMDR Alvarez LOG 12, Star-Date 3301
Explaining all the previous LOG's and hacks of LOG's to Elara wasn't that hard, but her actual comprehension of it all was.
"Wait, So you're telling me that we were cryo frozen in the year 2090 and basically shipped to the backwater of space, woken up 1,200 years later, and are now tasked with doing whatever we feel like now?"
I stood up "Yeah, except that I don't think we are the only ones, and that us being here, talking about this is probably not what was supposed to happen."
Elara sighed explosively "Well then, what was supposed to happen?"
I shrugged my shoulders "I don't know really. I just woke up with almost no memory of getting here, and started to make a living. That's when the bounty came up and I hightailed it out of there. The really weird part though, was that when I heard the A.I. say the bounty amount, it sounded familiar. Like I knew the person talking, even if it was a computer."
Elara said "That's different."
"Yeah, it is."
I started to think about the A.I. again. It really did sound familiar, like an old friend, but then he would've remembered them. right? Whatever it meant, it wasn't good. Maybe they were preserved for some other purpose, maybe...
"ahem" Elara coughed loudly
"Oh, sorry. Got lost in a train of thought. So do you know how you got here?"
"Not really" She said as she stood up "I only remember waking up in levethick dock with a bill for a room, 100 credits on the table, and a sidewinder waiting for me. The weird difference between us is that you said you remember most of your life back then except the freezing, but I only remember my birth date and name."
I just sat down, not sure what to make of it. As I looked Elara over, I realized something. Well, beside the obvious of her looking good, she had the makings of a pilot. A great one even. I came to the conclusion that us working together, instead of apart, would help solve the mystery around why we were here, and to help each other in the bubble.
I must have been staring for a while when she said "Um, hey. So did you get lost in another train of thought or what?"
I blinked, then said "Elara, I know we just met, but I have the inkling of a notion that whatever happened before, today our paths are inexplicably crossed to the point of entanglement. No matter what happens next, most likely we will be involved somehow. And to ensure that we both discover the secret of this mystery, and that we both will survive whatever comes next, I would strongly suggest that we both accompany one another to be of assistance in all manners of harm. What do you say?"
Elara tilted her head "So basically let's be co-pilots to not die and learn what happened to us. Right?"
I nodded "Something like that. You in?"
Elara stood there, staring me over this time. I now know how discomforting it can be. After a sizable length of time she spoke up "You know, I think that this arrangement can work out, for now." She walked over and grabbed the ladder to the bunks "I'm gonna hit the hay, we'll talk over specifics tomorrow. Goodnight"
I waved at her "Goodnight."
Whatever had happened to us, whatever was going to happen to us, was going to happen with us together. At least we would both figure out what was really going on with our past and the present. I just really hope that I don't like her enough to do something stupid for her. Oh well. Time will definitely tell with this new, friendship, I guess.
