Community Event / Creation Cmdr Derolon Malastar's Logbook

Hello Cmdrs,

the following is just a try to write down the events following the journey of Derolon Malastar on his voyage home. How much, and how often I write depends on the feedback. I hope you are sending me feedback, positive and negative as well. So, hope you enjoy.

CMDR's Log

Bosch Station-LHS 1914 - Federation Space - 11/22/3300 - 21:34

So I've got my Sidewinder and 100 Cr. Not much. And I am even in a makers forsaken place of this Galaxy. LHS 1914.
Well, it is a start. One day I may be able to visit the old hime...Sol. Fortunately I inheritted the
permission to enter it already. Unfortunately, it is 77,67 LY away.

And, of course, I wanna go back to my home. Lave. Thats even farther away. 159,27 LY.

But for now it is quite a daydream for sightseeing-fantasies. But you need dreams, a goal to achieve.
That keeps you alive on the frontier. And to visit home...what may be a better dream to chase?

Well, first things first. I need Credits. A Sidewinder is a good old ship, but I want something else.
The Cobra Mk 3...I always dreamed about it. And otherwise than to see Sol and going home to Lave, this
is a goal that I can achieve in the near future. So...onward to glory...as the ancient ones said back
2000 years ago.

So, first job...moving 2 tons of Cobalt within this system to Bohm Terminal...I can do it. So I
contacted the guy from the Nationals of LHS 1914, and signed the contract. The material was hauled into my
cargo-room a short time after that, I requested permission to launch, and after I left the 5-km-radius
of Bosch Station I jumped. The fliegt was quite boring, but I am always overwhelmed about the beauty
of space. 273 Ls, what a short distance compared to the galaxy I thought...

Bohm Station-LHS 1914 - Federation Space - 11/22/3300 - 22:18

...and that may be explain why I forgot to request docking-permission to the Coriolis-Station as soon
as I got there. The friendly but direct voice of my computer woke me up just the moment I was entering
the station with the notification I commited a crime, and will be charged with 500 Cr. Well, that is
something I won't forget for the future. Quickly I left the entryway to make room for the other ships
to dock. Outside again I requested my docking permission, and finally got it. I landed, handed over
the 2 tons of Cobalt, and paid my fine. What a beginning for this journey home, I am curious if I will
make it home. Lets fill this Cmdr's Log, it will be witness of my adventures.

Herzfeld Landing - GCRV 4654 - Federation Space - 11/22/3300 - 23:15

So, the first hyperspace jump complete, and that into unexplored space. 6.13 LY away from LHS 1914 is
GCRV 4654, and I have to deliver 3 tons of Beer. Nearly got me 2000 Credits. Seems like I got
lucky. The process is always the same, contact the guy, this time a nice female, sign the contract,
and bring the stuff to the destination.

Well, GCRV 4654. No computer-data of it, just the sun...right there, and nothing else. My first hyperspace-
jump. I think I willnever get used to it. After the jump into a system and the sun is approaching right
before my windshield, I always sink deeper into my chair, but right before the heat goes up to 88%,
the ship stops.

So here I am...at first, a D-Scan. With the Basic Discovery Scanner I won't get a lot of information but
better than nothing. When I am already here I can take the money from the Universal Cartographics Society
for exploring unknown space. 9 unidentified objects. Quite a start, und yes, everything was an asteroid cluster.
I flew near everyone of it, scanned it, and off to the next one, until everyone was explored. Then
heading to Herzfeld Landing. On the way to it I found 2 planets. GCRV 4654-3 and GCRV 4654-4, so 1 and
2 must be somewhere out there. Depending on the next mission I decide to look for them or not.

Vela Ring - FK5 2550 - Federation Space - 12/22/3300 - 0:09

What a glorious mission. Transport Biowaste to Vela Ring in FK 5 2550. Well, but it was the best offer
on the station. Fortunately, I had plenty of time, so I was able to lovate the missing 2 planets in the
GCRV-System. On top of that, I was also able to locate GCRV 5 , a gas-giant with 7 small planets around
it. I must say, I am proud of myself. Handed the data to the Universal Cartographics Society, and got
4780 Credits. Quite nice for flying around.

Then Vela Ring...what a sight. My first Orbis Station...so huge. I really start to love this live. Lets
have a look at the situation. Started 3 hours ago with 100 Credits, and now I am up to 9651 Credits.
Nice start, and I hope, more yet to come. That concludes my first day, and I will not even think about
all the days yet to come, until I am back at home again. Back in the Lave-System.
