Cmdr Fenris Wolf - New weapons for the Vulture

We arrived back last week just in time for the Wedding that never happened. Our shock at the assassination of our Emperor knocked us back somewhat and I ended up in the cells for brawling and Daisy in the pound for removing another Commanders fingers when he tried to grab her. Luckily I know the head of security here so once I'd sobered up they let us out again and we headed to our ship hanger.

The Diamondback Explorer had handled well on our excursion to Eta Carina and was having a well deserved rest, a service and a wash to get the grime off her.

Whilst I was away I had some work done on Sverði Nökkuru (my Vulture), I'd requested a different weapons configuration to be installed and a new paint job. The 'Tactical White' looked really great, but I know I've got some work for one of my clients that... shall we say... is a bit on the edge of being legal. So I want something a little less noticeable if I need to skulk around in some of the more dangerous areas. I'd heard of a new paint they are bringing out and I managed to get some from the first batches that arrived on the station before we set off to the Carina Nebula. The guys in the maintenance bay were just as eager to see it so I left it with them.

I coded the hanger door and entered and my jaw nearly hit the floor. Sverði looked fabulous! The new paint, a dark partially reflective chrome gave her a new sense of menace. This was going to be fun...

We climbed aboard and I accessed the weapons panel to make sure the other changes had been completed. The two E3 Pulse Lasers (G), were replaced with a C3 Beam Laser (G) and a C3 Cannon (G). I heard a couple of other commanders talking about weapon configurations and one said that the slow rate of the Cannon is made up for with the power of the Beam. Being as I like close combat I thought I've give this a try. I checked the weapons status and everything had a green light so we'd be okay to take her out for a test flight to the Nav Point and back, removing any pirates we see on the way.

I closed the hatches and set a route on the navicomp. Time to launch and see how the new configuration performs.

Hopefully, I'll make it back to make an update to this log.
