Community Event / Creation Cmdr Ishmat`s hunts

Hi Commanders!!
It all started this morning. I entered the map "ethics and credits", and I was attacked right in the beginning by Cmdr Alex Muad'dib. Then I started again, and I started to record,
and this is the result. Enjoy!!http://youtu.be/hMSEYcasiks

I had read something about it, and have had the opportunity to show.He destroyed me before recording
Hope you do not learn from these players.: Smilie:

It has to be prevented outright... if in battle you can't disconnect without fear of losing your ship.

Anything else would be cheating in my book. I know its just an alpha, but you could risk running into the guy again trying to fly towards a station because youre badly damaged after your first fight and then he just reconnects and blows you up like in your video, while your weapons are down.

But then again... these are scenarios, so in the full game he will probably reconnect with the same damaged ship, but it still is preventing him from dying nonetheless.

Is this in discussion on the Alpha Forum?

I note that you are credited with the kill, which is nice, but what is the effect on the rage-quitter? Is this something to be explored more in beta?

I guess part of the problem here is that there is no downside to rage quitting (or death in general) as it is really just a place to test out a few things, it's not actually a game yet. But with that in mind surely hanging on 'till the bitter end makes no odds.

Anyhow, people quit out. It's Bad Form, what's the lowdown on dealing with it in the real game?

Hello,

Cmdr Alex Muad'dib here.

I found out about this video today, and registered in the forum to be able to answer it.

Cmdr Ishmat, I think I remember these fights. In the first one I took the opportunity to test if I could escape. After you disappeared off my radar I quit. What's the point in staying in the game if I had lost you? BTW, I'm pretty sure I didn't disconnect when you mentioned it in the video. I think I went into silent mode at that time. Anyway, it's an alpha and I'm using it to improve my skills, not to shoot some videos.

In the second fight... what's with the OLEEEE? Are you 12 years old? I had to look it up to see the meaning, and I'm not an animal...
Again, another BTW, I knew you couldn't do a thing, I could have just shot you standing still, but I was circling around you to tease you a bit. Funny how you relate that into some old fashioned and cruel animal suffering event.

Finally, last fight. I was practicing against an NPC, and there you come, raging like a bull. I decided I'd let you take it all out, not firing a single shot at you, since fighting against you detracts from the rest of the game where I get to have some fun (you're a bit basic while attacking). The shots that you see coming out of my ship were because the pulse laser got damaged and started firing on its own. I turned my ship down so that you could end it quickly, but you took FOREVER to do the job. Were you expecting me to wait two minutes to die!? I waited around for a while and since you wouldn't do anything, I figured you got what you wanted.

Finally, regarding "Cmdr Ishmat's hunts". You're one of the weakest pilots out there. You don't know how to strafe, you don't know how to turn flight assist off, you don't know how to manage your shields, you point and shoot... in effect, you're nothing but a nuisance that gets in the way of people trying to actually improving their skills.

You seem to be in it to save some videos and to do some montages that show off your best and other people's worst. Again, 12 years old? Trying to mask some of your real life frustrations?

So, pleaaaaasse, if you see me out there, feel free to do whatever you want, but if I don't shoot back it means I don't want to fight with you because you're so boring.

Just finished reading my rant and it does seem over aggressive, but what the heck, I wanted to put you in your place and you're probably someone I really don't want to spend anytime with anyway.

Have a nice life!

You are welcome.I feel upset you the video, just as it is trying to prove his game.
I'm proud to be a rational animal and have a spirit of 12 years of age.
as you say this is an alpha and we find fault, have fun and help, but I see you not doing that.
you attack players when they appear, you are lurking, do well, is making many friends.

You feel upset about the video or you feel you've upset me? I believe it's the latter. Are you happy?

Yes, despite usually being a very calm guy, I find my blood boils a bit when I see unfairness, even if it's not directed at me.

In the case of your video I see a guy whose only objective is only to make another guy look bad, not testing the alpha.

If you were testing the alpha your comments would have been:

- Here Frontier should allow subsystem auto repair, so that after an escape a ship can battle again (in the first scenario, like I said, I quit because I wouldn't be able to do more and neither would you).

- Here Frontier should probably introduce a penalty for people that quit early (yes, in the last battle I quit when there was a minute or so left in the life support counter, because you stopped shooting at me for so long! Were you expecting me to wait out a full minute, particularly when I just wanted you to get off my back?)

Instead of constructive comments you opted for defamatory comments. While fun to 12 year olds (and I'm not talking about the "spirit" like you call it, it's a metaphor for immaturity) it wasn't fun for me, on the other end of it.

Finally, when you say I'm attacking players and lurk. Completely false. I'm really glad you said it here instead of putting it in another montage of yours.

Unlike Snuffler, who is playing the game like I will in the final version, I don't lurk. I target someone and take ONE shot at them to see if they're interested in a battle, particularly if I see they're engaged in something else.
If I get a positive answer (another single shot), I wait until both shields are at 100% and then we engage (usually I give the first dozen shots or so).

If I ever shot someone and got no fire back, I'd stop (e.g. in my own defense, when the alpha started I shot at everything that moved, but also got killed a lot because of lack of skill)! I certainly wouldn't continue to shoot them and then post a video on the internet showing it off, with my comments on how the other guy is an awful person for not waiting for me to see the whole show.

Search around the forums. You'll see some comments about me showing up, getting shot at by three different ships, and being there until the end (to the great enjoyment of many people).

By the way thanks for writing your first post here.
You have not been submitted to the community.http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?p=301136#post301136

Many commanders wanting to know.
Stop by here http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=12596
Relax and enjoy Cmdr Alex muad'dib.

I have another Frontier account and introduce myself to people whose skills I admire. I'll be canceling this account, since I'll only reveal who I am on the forums when things quiet down and we're playing the final game.

Right now I'm seeing some hot headed people personally targeting each other (even more than your honor and OLE videos) and I don't want to be dragged into that.

Much to your credit, you've managed to drag me to this discussion. That's the power of the internet, you can always find something that rubs you the wrong way.

The reputation it has for a video that 60 people have seen it, you do not think much harm fence. anyway pedemos someday make one set and anacondas attacking miners. or better yet, work with wings that are being created for endless war.
For peace of mind I have changed the title by the vote of confidence.;)

No point getting excited guys. We've all seen what looks like rage quitting, when its actually a network connection problem. See Psykokows recording of him and Jenner last Sunday.

I'm with BB on this; no point getting hot under the collar in Alpha. :)

We all know the pilot dies once the air is depleted but I'd like to know what happens to the dead ship for the surviving pilot. In Alpha, it must disappear but what about the final game?

As I see it now, if my ship was crippled or it's life support compromised, then I'd hit the life raft.

I think in the end we can to run the following game in capsule. As to be destruction. And returns in the near station.
