Hi buddies,

I'm wondering since I choose my CMDR name, do I have to write it in uppercase or in normalcase (first letter Uppercase, others in lowercase).
I didn't find anything about naming rules in Elite: Dangerous lore. I've supposed that I have to write it uppercase because NPC names are in uppercase... But station names are in normalcase and in the player community we got all and nothing.

Then the question is, if I wanna be lore-friendly, do I have to name myself in uppercase ? normalcase ? Players like me, which care about "lore-friendly stuff" will named their commander like me ?

OFC I'm talking about in-agme names.

Not really important to me, so i didn't vote.

Personally i prefer to write my name normalcase since "Jorlin Jollyfingers" was born as a halfling rogue in the original Everquest.
Obviously he was soon called "JJ" by his friends...and the normalcase just makes this more visible.
I kept the name through many games and even it might sound kind of "wrong" in a space sim, it still looks like a name ;)

I would have assumed uppercase, as it's customary in most of todays languages.

I don't think there is a rule and there shouldn't be, but I don't really mind - who am I to tell someone how he should spell his name - really none of my business.

I for one went with the classical latin version: All Caps

I am S'log in game and just use the normal lower case but first letter upper just to be grammatically ccorrect which in itself is daft as I can't spell anyway...actually I can spell anyway ..see I just did it again but you get the idea.

Just use normal case and capitalisation.

Michael

Thanks Michael, I hoped to have FD staff opinion.

@all
Thank you everyone for your replies, I was quite disturbed to see that NPC's names and ship's names were capitalized in commchat and some commanders wrote their name uppercase, others in lower case.
