I set off from the bubble on 21/07/3307 to do a tour of the whole Galaxy
Last time I did a tour of the galaxy it was just after the Codex was released. I visited life in each of the 42 sectors of the galaxy via the shortest route. (See the Grand Tour I link for details) This time I’m stepping it up a notch. I’m going to follow the full length of each spiral arm from the tip to the galactic core, then straight through and follow the opposite arm to the tip . There are 4 Arms (Who new!) When I set out, I assumed that there were just 2 that doubles the distance I have to travel I will also have to travel about the length of the galaxy to join up the ends of the arms. It again take me through all 42 sector of the galaxy. But this time I will have to go through each sector the long way. I will be stopping of at all 91 Fleet carrier in the DSSA on the way.
Estimated total distance is 640000 Ly
Estimated total Number of jumps 8500
Estimated total Playing time 190 hours, not including time scanning and mapping.
If I find a system with an earth like planet I will scan and map the whole system. If I find a water world or an ammonia planet. I will scan the system and map the water worlds or Ammonia planet and landable Planets with atmospheres. When I find landable Planets with atmospheres and life other than bacteria I will scan the plants and fungi.
This should get me up to Exploration Elite ***** and hopefully elite in Exobiology.
I have now travelled ¼ of the Galaxy’s circumference, and I am now turning in to the spiral to the galactic cure.
So far up to 02/09/3307:
I’ve covered about 130,000 Ly
Done about 1700 jumps
I’ve visited 14 of 91 the DSSA fleet carriers
Discovered 8 earth like planets
Cover 5 sectors of the galaxy
Scanned about 170 plants
Found 1 Mega ship
I have seen 0 commanders since I have left the bubble.

Progress report
So far I have been traveling around the edge of the Galaxy, where the space is thin and the stars are far apart. At the Tip of the spiral, stars are too far apart to plot a route, and You have use FSD injection to increase your jump range on a regular basis.I have now travelled ¼ of the Galaxy’s circumference, and I am now turning in to the spiral to the galactic cure.
