CMDR UK_mouse - short exploration trip

o7 CMDR's.

Back out in the black for the 5th time now, thought I would head outwards from SOL. Currently only about 5kly's out.
I had Thor's Helmet and the Seagull Nebulae as planned sights. From Thor's Helmet, I ventured downwards and am now between the Perseus and Outer arms at the bottom of the Galactic plane. I will be shortly heading out along the bottom of the Outer arm to see how far I can go.
Now this is exploring. 95% of jumps require a boost of some sort. My Asp has a jump range of 45ly on half a fuel tank or less. This allows me to jump 90ly (or a little more with less fuel on board) with a premium boost. I'm finding quite a few White Dwarf's and Neutron Stars. Loving the Neutron boost of 180ly's.
Every system I'm jumping into, I'm scanning the landable bodies for volcanic activity and materials. I have plenty on board giving me 22 premium, 28 medium and 45 standard FSD boosts, but I'll still hunt for more. Better safe than sorry!
Before jumping into a system (more so when jumping from a Neutron) I'm checking I can safely jump back out if necessary.
It's very slow going, but that's what exploration is about.

I've put together a video of some of the sights I've seen, hope you enjoy.

Fly safe.

I dunno about you but all that thinking about jumponium qty boils my brains... and I've got to get to Beagle!

When i get into that properly I'll be making some sort of spreadsheet to keep me right.

Find my jumponium calculator sheet at bit.ly/GAPPING. You can enter your jump ranges, the Abyss crossing routes are already entered, and it will tell you which jump will need which boost, how many total and the total mats you need.
