CMDRS are already TAKING OUT THARGOIDS?!?

That was... (checks watch) faster than I had anticipated!

So... I guess that whole don't shoot thing lasted what... 2 days?

Wow, took years to develope a good story line and it will end in a week after it starts. Apperently the various Navy's have those mighty and all powerful Capitol ships would do better to sell them off to the highest bidder and buy a bunch of crazy gun happy, Sidewinders. Ok, maybe not Sidewinder, but you get my drift. Seems like a hand full of Griefers is all the humans need. Hail to all those Harry Potter's out there for a job well done.
What the next lore, this one's over.

These are small interceptors, we have seen nothing yet. We have managed to take our their cobra or eagle equivilant. And have must use multiple ships in a wing etc.

We will see their mummy and daddy ones at some point. I still think the site are ships.

When the large ones appear, they will have the small interceptors as supports. There is so much more coming, we have managed to acheive exactly what we should do with the single weapon we have.

More of them to come. More AI skills we haven't seen, more weapons for us to come.

I'm taking a wait and see approach, it's only been a few days I'm sure there's lots more to come in this update. I was really hoping for some actual story missions but I know that's probably unlikely due to the way the game is laid out. It all just seems... Rather binary, like suddenly a switch got flipped and now there are Thargoids everywhere, like 99% of the unknown signals are now Thargoid but only in Pleiades. Not a single one outside it. And although they wreck countless numbers of Cutters and Clippers and capital ships they won't attack you unless you get too close or fire first, because people would freak if they got destroyed every time they encountered an alien vessel. So now currently encountering them means nothing for two reasons, one is that you choose to encounter them because they are all contained in Unknown signals and two because of this stringent behavior they've been set up with you just wait for them to go away then go collect whatever is left over at the battle site. Why not let them occasionally attack? Maybe only program them to attack larger ships so that people in Cobras and Eagles don't get wrecked? Why is every single unknown signal containing a Thargoid exactly the same? It's all so... rigid.
Capital ships are sitting silently in systems with no fighter escort, no sign of life at all, not even a radio signal, while 20 LS away there is a completely destroyed capital ship surrounded by wrecked Cutters and Clippers. That doesn't make any sense, are Capital ships just photo ops? At the very least could they maybe elicit some radio chatter? Something to make them seen like they're actually alive, serve a purpose?

I really do like the game and I'm not trying to be salty, I just don't understand some of the decisions. The players definitely bring this game to life but more often than not I find the game itself plays like a spreadsheet, it's not alive. I'm really hoping that will change in the coming months and I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store I just really hope that it injects some unpredictability into it. I think it could really use that. Or you know, some actual story missions with actual plots and actual characters that actually play out in some actual manner, I don't think it's the end of the world if everyone playing does the same story missions from time to time. I don't need to be the savior of the universe but it might be nice to be more than a cockroach from time to time.

And in closing, great game, have some thoughts, see above, thank you and goodnight.

I believe the various Capitol ships here and there are designed to make the other side think they are on top of things, and you better watch out. Where in reality, those Capitol ships are just halograms, hence they don't allow one to get to close by putting up barriers and such.
