C'mon FD, let us upgrade to beta access :D

And so the "Cult of Throwing Money at the Screen" shall be formed. And they shall gather in secret after dark and chant the words. The words of access. The words of power. Things best done in remote locations, so nobody can ask questions, and disrupt the chanting. :D

I'm a beta backer and have no problem with people helping funding the game and showing a genuine interest in testing in future betas by paying for the privilege.

Seeing how beta testing did not reveal exploits such as wing beacon shield recharge or wing beacon trading, FD really should reconsider their current beta tester crowd. They're obviously not betatesting, but just toying with ships they can't afford on live and taking selfies.

Things I'd love to know: How many players were logged into the beta server, and how many of those players were ever in a wing.

As i don't like to play beta (sorry FD), i really would like to give up my beta rights to someone who would use them.

A new batch of beta testers may be a good idea. Some of the original ones may not be playing anymore or even paying attention to announcements.
I havent played for nearly a month now, but plan to take some time to beta test powerplay.

EDIT: Speculation - what would be a reasonable upgrade price for people who wants beta acces?

Yeah, like FD would listen to you Quineloe. Considering most beta testers have been earning since Gamma, I doubt money for buying ships in Live is an issue. Shield recharge was brought up during testing, along with a bunch of other stuff. A lot of good feedback was provided during the last round of testing, but we only had a short amount of time to check everything.

1.1 a lot of feedback was ignored
1.2 was an improvement, still we all knew it was going live with issues.

There will always be a section of testers that just want to muck about, am fairly sure the bulk of 'Take My money' guy's on this thread don't actually want to 'test' they just want early access

Indeed - I'm a beta backer - and all I will do is log in for 10 mins to have a look around. There is no point in doing too much as it will get wiped. Then I will go back to live.

I say open up beta to all or allow people to upgrade for a small fee.

Nothing like a bit of gross generalisation, is there?

Well I for one will not be messing around in beta. I will be testing what FD ask to be tested. I will be trying my hardest to find bugs, exploits etc. I will report what I find.

I would happily pay as much as the final game cost for beta, but I would recommend this to be more like a DLC than anything else, so people can't just buy the beta.

Instead of a buy-in beta I would moreso reccomend a chance to 'apply' for beta test access wherin one agrees to actively help test new features as they can and must actively submit feedback, or at least provide an in-game report of their actions every so often to retain access to the beta itself.

This ensures people don't just buy-in to the beta for the sheer sake of messing around with new features before anyone and not reporting issues. Allow those who paid in for it to stay there, yes. But also include a group of people who are willing to dedicate themselves to the actual testing side of things while the others have their own fun. Only difference is this group will have to continue participating and actively work to maintain their beta access.
