Thanks Adam - I'm still considering spraying the case black, but I have my lightsaber project to finish first (that and I'd like to play some E-D not build the machine)

Nice stuff, I like the machine you built.
Done a lot of CNC stuff in my time.... originally CNC milling, then more recently wire eroding.... would be nice to have something to play around with at home.
Now getting my head around CNC turning...the new lathe is a bit fast and scary

I had some help with the design from the mycncuk forums, in order to get better strength/rigidity into the design. Even so I was pretty nervous about milling steel with a 2mm end mill.
.
I know what you mean about CNC lathes; they go so fast compared to manual techniques - all in the feeds and speeds though I guess.
