Co-Op private group?

For the OP to work people would have to have their transponder IDs always on, otherwise there's no way to manage player/player killings - how can you complain about a PK if you have a transponder off! So if the tansponder option goes through to release, a group as the OP describes would suit me - sign me up! :)

If no one else does it, this sort of group is something I will look into come launch, though I suppose I would maybe give it a few weeks after launch to at least TRY the all group..

as it would be no PvP there will be no need for hiding from everyone so I agree transponders would be on :)

Some people want to turn off showing the difference between NPCs and PCs for other reasons than to avoid PKing, which is fair enough of course. But in the case of a group where PvP was off purely through player choice then you'd have to use transponders on to enforce this "rule". This is assuming Frontier go with the transponder thing.

I think this sort of group would suit me best too. I don't mind the occasional bit of PvP, at a time of my choosing and not when it's forced on me.

As said above, I'd have to give the All group a shot at first to see how it all pans out with the rozzers and rules in place.

Where do we (preliminarily) sign up? :)

Once the game launches whilst testing the all group I will check out what private options we have available! There is no point taking names if the private grouping is not going to work for large numbers and be persistent
There are a number of issues that have been pointed out with my idea depending on what flags are configurable or not

1) idiots signing up enmass with the sole purpose of griefing,

2) possibly putting in group complaints against people to get innocents kicked)

3) deliberate ramming or firing off 1 or 2 shots "accidentally" just enough to soften people up

4) flying in front of commanders to deliberately get them flagged as breaking rules.

So I guess it comes down to exactly what the private grouping will allow in terms of flags, which we will find out once. The game goes gamma

I'm pretty sure this has been explained already. You will be able to go in the "all group" or play only with friends and switch between them. Also an ignore list.

You'll fine that people will keep to friends only most of the time tbh, with organised groups/clans.
