coaster combined with a ferris wheel as lift hill

I just saw this video of a toy coaster (using knex) but it uses a ferris wheel to lift the cars to the top of the first hill instead of a standard chain lift... very very unique and even though I doubt it will get added into the game, I though it was a cool concept

maybe planet coaster could have an additional coaster type where the track and cars can work like this? something less "realistic" but full of free-flowing creativity, like a marble madness setup [wacky]

I have never seen those kind of lifts in real life but they don't seem completely unrealistic. And i would love to see some diversity in lifthills.

Would also love those those 2 lifttypes : Rotorlift (Euromir and Eurosat in Europapark) and vertical lift (Matterhorn Blitz)

There is a coaster somewhere in the US (i remember seeing on TV) with a Ferris Wheel type lift, think it was for a coaster that had racing cars as coaster cars or something, was interesting

Edit: found it

That's cool actually, I'd definitely like to see one of those in the game. Maybe with an adjustable size? This is Planet Coaster after all. It reminds me of the Falkirk wheel in my home country (about the only cool thing we have [haha])

Yeah, I remember that one! It was built at Myrtle Beach for their Hard Rock / Freestyle Music park that failed. Another link is at http://rcdb.com/3853.htm . It was for a smaller coaster, but there's no reason that couldn't be scaled up. I also recall some water rides having unusual lift mechanisms too.

Myrtle Beach is interesting because they also had a hybrid wood-steel coaster. It had a full steel frame rather than wooden timbers. The actual track and cars were wooden, but the frame was all steel probably to resist the coastal environment. It was called the Hurricane and can be seen at http://rcdb.com/595.htm . Pay very close attention in some of the later photos where the steel frame is perfectly visible. Looks just like a normal wooden coaster from a distance.

There are some other interesting, non-traditional lifts out there too.. I've seen coasters with vertical, elevator-style lifts. I know for sure there's a water coaster with that feature. Can't recall the name or location of it. I feel like it actually had two vertical lifts side by side with a not-entirely-straight path upward.

EDIT: Divertical is what I was thinking of. Water coaster with vertical lift. See http://rcdb.com/10393.htm
