Coaster Friction

It would be nice to have the option for the coasters friction back in Planet Coaster 2. And not like the tracked rides and the flumes where it is hide in the game option. The same way it was in PC1 was perfect.

Yes and no. As a feature why not, as a priority: nope.

I feel they took a step forward, when it comes to coasters. I mean it could just be the pov, but they feel a lot smoother, so i guess there is a reason, why they added to other tracked rides and not coaster. Especially since tracked rides are obvious the redhaired stepchild of the game. So for our own sanity it may be better that we don't have that option.
Of course down the road, why not, but and i fear some backlash on this sentence, we don't need every option from the first game, sometimes the game can improve and wooden coasters carry a lot of more momentum through the track. The button always felt like an emergency button, when they new they messed up on some layouts.

Bottom line: Yes, if they didn't change the physics they should do this, if they did they need to make sure it is a good experience. In times where people smooth on 4m or lower pieces adding an overall multiplier might not have the desired results.

Coaster Friction settings are in the game. But it's a global setting in your main settings instead of an individual settings in each coaster Info Panel. Eg one friction setting that affects all coasters in the park. My question is.... If I change that setting and make a coaster blueprint, what happens on subscriber PC's and consoles where the person may not have changed that setting? I guess the coaster won't run as well?

Where did you see this? I only saw for flumes and tracked rides.

I saw it here but yeah I see what you mean. It's in Coaster Setting but it talks about Track Rides. Give it a try I guess.

I just saw <ShowCoasterFrictionSlider>true</ShowCoasterFrictionSlider> in the config but I dont know if it works

It just add "friction" behind the name of the coaster... I didn't expect much but this, this is very useless Frontier :ROFLMAO:.
Anyway thank for the tip. :ROFLMAO:

That simply set your coaster friction, 1 is normal compare to game standard. If you lower this, this means that your coaster will simply have lesse friction, so the train will be less slow down by the friction of the wheels on the track.
This make the coaster keep it speed more consistent.
Basically a coaster wich have this value to 0 doesn't slow down along the track, and will always keeps it speed. The only thing that could slow it down is a up hill or brakes.
A higher number than 1 will do the opposite.
