Coaster-Option: Compact station & Entrance/Exit Gates to the sides

Currently, the stations for the rollercoasters are kind of big. You have a big entrance area, long gates, a "dead" zone and then finally the track itself, while the exit-side still has a generous path and the blank area as well.

I'd really like to see an optional compact-station. This could feature: shorter gates on the entrance side (maybe just 50%), and the additional pathing on the exit side could be completely left out, as the grey area would still be big enough for peeps to get off the ride. This allows for much more compact rides, and makes fairground style rides much easier and more realistic to build.

In addition, it would be great to be able to set the side the operator is located.

I'd also like to have the option to place the rides entrance and exit gates not only on the stations front and back side, but also on the respective sides. The station, even in my compact-suggestion, should still offer enough space to make this possible (at least with one fixed position on the side). This will also allow for more compact rides, without beeing to much of a hazzle to program.

I agree - Many coasters (such as Wild Mouse or kiddie coasters), have quite small stations.

I also agree that the stations we have have far too much wasted space as you describe.

+1 from me [up]

It would also be great to have the ability for more than just straight station segments as many real-life coasters have curved/bent stations (Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz, Rock 'N Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios). Would be fun to have more control over stations, in general.

very good idea with the smaller stations - would be very handy for me as well :)
and I really like the idea of haveing entrance/exit paths on all for sieds [up]
