Coaster Ratings and Results

I still struggle with buidling coasters. I just tried to build some of the new coasters from Vintage DLC and when I am done and look at it in on-ride cam I am somewhat satisfied.[big grin] But the heatmaps show me that this coaster is considered boring[shocked][sad], not much excitement, no good fear but nausea is perfect.

I just build the new Bobsled coaster and in on-ride cam I saw that it really sucked.[mouth shut] Everybody would have had their head and other bodyparts and their clothes ripped off several times.[pirate] Yet the heatmaps showed me that I've just build a perfect coaster with all green stats.[shocked][rolleyes]

This happens to me whenever I build a coaster. When building a woodie I would aspect that excitement and fear go up when there is a 60 degree drop, but peeps consider it boring. I really don't understand the coaster stats in the game.

If there are some hints I might have missed (I also struggle with the search tool in this forum because I seem to use the wrong keywords here and then). [big grin]

Silvarrets videos are probably the best oh and also Variable Gaming [up]

my best tips is to focus on maintaining an even speed by balancing your hills before you send the train through any tight turns or inversions... by "balance" I mean that each hill should get progressively smaller and pay attention to where your highest/slowest or average speed is at

thats why i’ve only made maybe 3-4 coasters. Takes forever to make them then they turn out to be to scary, no one rides

Thank you, but I already knew (most of) those tutorials. Problem still is, when I watch my ride in on-ride cam it looks perfect, yet statistics tell me its terrible. Fair enough. But when I download coasters from the workshop with overwhelming stats and then watch them in on-ride-cam it looks terrible - people would have all bodyparts blown off. That's what I'm talking about.

I understand and I agree, unfortunately the coaster ratings are not always optimal and a poor design can get better ratings for some reason, not sure why though

I wish complaints like this were more focused on by the devs, this game could greatly benefit from a classic or "casual" control scheme that not only helps but encourages beginners to learn and better understand coaster design. And also, not just Video Tutorials but in-game tutorials with better objectives could go a long way to drawing in more new players

Hopefully they can improve things for PlanCo2
