Coaster Roughness, Break downs, and Train Swapping

These ideas have been in my head for a while, so here you go!

Coaster Roughness:

Most often, when coasters get older, they get more rough. In PC, you often just have to make sure they don't break down and you can forget about them. Seeing as how people complain about how easy Challenge/Career mode is, this would make it harder. It could also add to the lacking management aspect of the game.

Instead of plotting a coaster down, and waiting for it to become a classic, Coaster Roughness could put a stop to that. Perhaps the coaster would get more rough over time and Guests would stop wanting to ride it. This would decrease profit, attendance, and perhaps could slow the time it takes for it to become a classic. The current refurbish button could potentially help the roughness. If you take care of roughness well, the less Guests will complain about it being rough. Maybe Construction Workers could be a thing and help keep coasters smooth.

Break Downs:

As of now, break downs are nothing more than the control panel malfunctioning. Perhaps along side with the panel having issues the trains could have restraints stuck closed, an E-Stop have to be made, Chain Lift snapping from poor maintenance, or maybe even having to stop on the nearest block if Weather is ever introduced.

Train Swapping:

One final thing here is something that's been bugging me ever since train swapping has been introduced, which is not being able to swap Boomerang trains with Looping trains. They are practically the same exact train, and yet we can't swap them. As of now we can put the Mine Train, Looping Train, and Hyper train on the 4D coaster. Thus brings up the question as to why we can't also do this with Boomerang and Looping trains.

These are great ideas that would add some more depth to the management aspect of the game!

I don't see the management aspect here.

It still would be:

1. Ride breaks down
2. send mechanic/Construction worker (is just the same)
3. ride is fixed.

Not a lot of management going on then?

Coaster Roughness would just be an equivalent to Prestige that currently drops with time, so you might as well say that's due to Roughness.

About the boomerang and Looping trains. The boomerang trains have a mechanism so they can be pulled up the hill backwards, the Looping trains don't have that mechanism, hence why you can't swap those

But I do like the additions to make things more versatile.

I love all your ideas. This would improve the management aspect of the game for me. I hope your suggestions are implanted.

That would be true, but prestige then goes up again. So it means after certain point, the more rough it gets, the better it is?

At this point, maintenance and brakedowns are useless, have no impact whatsoever. At first, it all should be tied with park rating more closely and park rating should directly and significantly affect the attendance. That´s the most annoying thing about PC. PC actually has quite good gameplay in it´s core, but it´s not balanced. And it´s shame. Because it´s not balanced to the extension that there is actually no gameplay and no challenge. Don´t get why they bothered with prestige system is they clearly don´t care about the gameplay aspect too much. It´s uselles.

Exactly this! PC does have some cool management features, but right now they don't offer any engaging gameplay.

That's not really what I was suggesting. Rides don't break down from roughness. Instead, as time progresses and the rougher it gets, the less and less guests could tolerate it and will eventually just stop riding it. This could also effect the rides prestige, and slow it down until it reaches Old/Aging, where it would stay until improvements are made or decide the ride should be taken out for something new, as costs and time for fixing the ride would increase the worse the experience gets. So, if the player wants the coaster to get to Classic smoothly, they could check up on the ride every once in a while to see if it's getting rough and could pay to have a worker come in and "retrack" the ride. Now, this is all just a suggestion, and could be improved upon.

As for the trains, they are still the same exact models, except with a small mechanism placed in the back. In real life, many parks use unused Arrow trains and put them on their Boomerangs. And for mechanisms going unused, if you swap the 4D train with anything else, the outer rail gets unused. I honestly hope Frontier allows this swapping soon, as Bolt trains are basically Cedar Point's Corkscrew trains but painted White and Red.

These are all good ideas, I wonder why nobody has created any mods or custom content like back in the days of RCT3 and Parkitect as of recent?

Thanks for explaining. It made things more clear for me.

As for the trains, I understand why you want to swap them, I only gave a logic explaination why it's not possible in-game.

Because no one has taken the time to do so.

I'm no modder so I wouldn't know how. All I know things are possible in PC as seen in a thread here before.
