Cobra Canopy Breach

So I'm really enjoying the game. I tried trading for awhile, and really liked bounty hunting once I had enough money to buy a Viper. Now I have a pretty well upgraded Cobra and I've been pretty successful bounty hunting. I've found a few conflict zones, and have definitely enjoyed dropping into them. However, on probably 5 out of 8 times dropping into conflict zones, I've had a canopy breach. The first 3 times, I just thought it was part of the fight. Then I realized that my canopy was breaching with little hull damage. Last night, I was fighting an Asp and he got my shields down, and straffed me once....canopy breached, 100% hull. How is this possible? Am I missing something? How can your canopy breach if there is no damage to any other part of the ship? Is there a way to target the canopy, under the subsystems or something? Is there a way to upgrade the canopy? Does it upgrade when you upgrade your hull? I have the mil. composite hull.

If anyone else is experiencing this issue, I'd like to hear about it. Or if I'm just being a jackass, please tell me.

they could be targeting your cockpit, getting lucky hits, or possibly using rail guns or something that is getting past your shields. Or of course the game may just hate you

Its a weakness with Cobras. Its worth investing in a good life support... it means you have time to complete your fight without having to leg it....

I guess you can hit the canopy glass then? That wouldnt breach the hull. But im not actually sure. Could be a bug, or simply that you cant "target" it as such, but get lucky shots if you aim at it when shields are down. Would be nice to know for sure. Indeed i have 20 minute life support so i never die. Just a tad annoying to leave the fight to fix it, but it has happened only twice for me.

You probably need to go into the repair menu when docked. If you have only been using the "repair all" button you see when docked, it does not deal with general wear and tear, which is separate.

^^ Indeed. Click the REPAIR button and not just REPAIR ALL on the first page. Your ship integrity can be really crappy. Sometimes i have to pay quite a lot cause i have neglected that. Weird of course that REPAIR ALL doesnt repair all, but there you go. Check that next time.

Yea, I definitely have been checking all the various repair percentages. In the instance where my canopy breached at 100% hull, the cobra was literally brand new. I got sick of canopy breaches in the Cobra and switched back to the Viper, my play style is much more suited to the Viper. Now, I'm just waiting for the new ships...
