Cobra Exploration

Does anyone use the cobra? The jump range is 28ly maxxed and I am struggling to gain enough for a ASP at the moment.

The Cobra makes a grand explorer. If you don't believe Ulysses and me then just ask Allitnil.

The cobra works great as an early exploration ship. Mine has 26 ly range with a minimal shield. I have an asp now (mining setup) but I'm still planning on using the cobra for my next trip, whenever that is (still doing some pew pew atm).

I'm configured thusly...

No weapons
FSD A4
Thrusters D4
ADS C1
Shields D3
Fuel scoop A4
Power plant A3
Power Dist B3
Life support C3
Detailed DS C1

All of this was configured way before wings dropped. I've been out exploring for donkeys years.

I took my Cobra MkIII all the way to the galactic core last weekend and I am heading home now.
Not the ideal exploration ship, but certainly capable. Many good systems were visited, many neutron stars and black holes were scanned with my MkIII.

I went the exact same way. I got a cobra, fitted for exploration for roughly 4.3 million and headed out. Took me about 30 hours over 2 weeks to make 8 million. I bought my Asp yesterday evening. Pay a visit to Lembava. You get 15% on the Asp there. I only payed 5.6 million. I will be out again tonight.
